With all due respect to other great Italian sopranos, I think not. The only other soprano who sang it as beautifully as this was probably Zinka Milanov.

Qualcuno ha ancora dubbi come mai Toscanini che certo non era di facili complimenti l'abbia chiamata la voce d'Angelo? Questa interpretazione è Magistrale: omogeneità perfetta delle note, emissione perfettamente sostenuta, a 1:58 e protegga Vigile il pianissimo è effetuato con una presenza tale di armoniche da superare coro e orchestra senza perdere minimamente la dolcezza. Il filato finale è dal cielo alla terra. Siamo sicuri che non sia veramente un Angelo a cantare attraverso di Lei?
