  • Dottie West IS Country Sunshine!!!

  • Good Song,It brings back memories.GARY V

  • yes the writers are Dianne Whiles, Dottie and Bill Davis. I know cuz I was literally "raised on Country Sunshine royalties" Libbie Whiles Pettie and thank you Coca Cola for helping my mom get the credit she so deserves! and Lpettie is her grand daughter my daughter thanks for supporting your gram Linds!

  • Very nice voice. Killed in a car wreck, right? That's too bad.

  • um love that red headed stuff.

  • My grandma wrote this song!!! Dianne Whiles! One of my most favorite songs! Love ya grams!

  • @LPettie No Dottie West and billy davis wrote this song in 1973, it started out as a jingle for a coke commercial, then it was released as a song and hit #2 on the country charts.

  • RIP Dottie. It's so sad how she died. She was plagued by sadness later on in life.

  • dottie is one of the greatest country singers, she never has gotten the respect she should of, she isnt even in the country music hall of fame.. if you go to dottie west.net they are trying to change that

  • She has such a nice voice.. Great song.

  • R.I.P. Ms. West, you were so talented, you went way too soon.

  • This lady wrote great country songs..........."Is This Me"--Jim Reeves............... "Here Comes My Baby", her own song which was also the VERY FIRST Grammy granted to a female in country music. She helped discover and nurture the careers of folks like Larry Gatlin and Steve Wariner. She was an awesome artist with many great hits............just one question............ WHY IS SHE NOT IN THE HALL OF FAME?! Wake up Nashville!! She earned her place!! Loved Miss Dottie. Miss her music!

  • love this song....

  • This was one of my Dad's favourite songs. I liked it too, we used to all sing along when they played on the radio. It was used in a Coke commercial too.

  • What a lovely lady.

  • I like some of the new country but I love more of the old country artists.

  • Classic Counrty. Love it.

  • Love this county and western recording artist .

  • was dottie a true redhead or did she color her hair?? i think one time she was a brunette any one out there know???

  • Love this song, love Dottie West, she was one of a kind, and I miss her very much. Thanks for posting this! :)

  • Love this song.. one of my fav. thank you to post this

  • GOOD COUNTRY MUSIC !

  • Dottie West was one hot cougar!

Seriously this artist is a joy listening to!

  • I just heard this one about a Year ago and it was uplifting. One of her Early one's is Let Me Off At The Corner.A little Risque for 1963 I think thats why it's not so Popular do You have it.

  • Pure Country at its best, we lost her much to soon ! Shes the really deal. Alot of Natural talent

  • I grew up on this listening to the mighty WMAQ in the 1970s. This is real country music. It never gets old.

  • i love this song, could listen to it all day long

  • Now this what country is!

  • It's Lady Airbrush, pre-Lady Airbrush!

  • dottie west needs to be in the hall of fame along with jean shepard 2 grand ladies of country music

  • I couldn/t agree with you more!!

  • Dottie was the best-thanks for posting this!

  • was she a true redhead????

  • Tu musica esta conmigo...es parte de mi alma y de lo que soy. ¡¡Gracias genial y adorable dottie!!

  • What A Pretty Necklace!! :-D

  • Thanks for the video. She is beautiful.

Love this clip even though I am not into country music. This is a classic.

  • I never understand why people feel the need to qualify their liking a country song, by backing it up with "even though I usually hate Country Music", etc. Cant they just like a song without having to be hung up about the genre?

  • Rest in sweetest Peace, Dottie

You'll Always Be Our Country Sunshine!

    <333

  • The Pride of McMinnville Tennessee! The BEAUTIFUL and TALENTED Dottie West. This Song gives me such a GOOD feeling inside, I remember when it was used in a Coca-Cola Commercial way back in 1973. I just LOVE Dottie and her WONDERFUL TALENTED Daughter, Shelly!

  • a great lady rip..

  • It makes me mad that you can only find maybe 3 cds by her ( if you are lucky ) they should put more of her albums on CD

  • The same thing can be said with many classic country artists..ie Eddy Arnold, Connie Smith, Marty Robbins, Jeannie Pruett,etc...

  • That's true, record companies anymore woulden't know real music if they tripped over it lol

  • @VinylCountryMusic i have it on vinyl. sounds better.

  • That's what I love about Dottie, she's such a little lady, but she has a voice that could move a mountain, it's amazing

  • Ditto, workin! Thanks for sending it to me......

  • One of my great regrets (although it could not be helped) was that I never saw Dottie. I remember when I was ten, playing "Upside Down" and "A Lesson in Leavin'," back to back, over and over. Dottie is (NOT was) one of the true greats, for her talent, her career, her life, and even her sad but heroic death. I had not thought of her for so long when she died, but still, when she did, to my surprise, I wept! I'd just bet that Dottie, Tammy, and Vestal are the best singers in heaven's choir!

  • Notice how Miss Dottie was singing LIVE! It is almost unknown now days. Most "singers" do not even sing live in a "concert". Of course, few can sing like Dottie in the first place.

  • Dottie is great.

  • it was good to see dottie again, my dad was a country music listener, so i had the priveledge of enjoying these great real country songs, ( although when i was little i probably thought dang how old fashioned) but now i at 45 i tend to go back to my roots and look i get to see dottie again. i would like to hear a good version of tanya tuckers song- SPRING. can anybody help???

  • love to do this song at kereoke

  • Yep i remember the coke com. they sure don't make them like they used to.

  • the more I watch this, the more the wonderful memories come back. . .esp the commercial: "Enjoy the 'country sunshine' of Coke." Does anyone else remember? There should be an entire Dottie webring!!

  • I remember and would love to see it!! A yellow VW Bug - young people driving home to see Mom and Dad on the farm - I've gone to Coke's website and asked for it, but they refuse to show it - copyright issues, I guess - a favourite ad of mine from the 70's - even though I always prefered Orange or Ginger Ale!!

  • Thanks Allen for these wonderful clips. I too am an enormous fan of Dottie, one of country's true Queens. I would be very interested in seeing whatever you've got. Do you happen to have any of her singing "Blue as I Want To" from the album Special Delivery?

  • Heard some major re-issue label is working on putting out all of her RCA, United Artists and Liberty albums as 2fers in a series of CD's (2 albums on 1 CD)

  • If thats true its the best news I have heard musically in a long time.

  • Thanks sooo much for posting this!!! I love Dottie West! Where do you find these?
