Ja klar, dann hat man "eine" StringMachine. Dann braucht man noch einen Sequenzer, vielleicht noch etwas für Pre- und Postproduction, hier noch VST, Synths, Drums und Co. und schon ist es nicht mehr so günstig.

This is a very nice piece of soft ware. The Solina alone is worth the price - add to that 12 more string synths - you can go wrong.

All you have to do is compare the original string synths to this plugin, and all the others plugins from m-audio for that matter, and you will find--perfect emulation.

It's sampled, it's velocity sensitive. To say nothing of the fact that you can add effects in ways that could never have been done with the old string machines/synths.

Which one is better? Irrelevant! Apples/Oranges. You just have to have a plan... and a decent processor of course!

@DIGITALSCREAMS yes it is Kraftwerk - Trans-Europe Express (got both the original album on vinyl and remix they did around mid 90s).

Both versions are great.... some superb sound pallets. The case could be made they were one of the keystones in pioneering the sound that became known as 'EBM'....

the point of this plugin is not to sound REAL, its a collection of old school analog synth string patcches. and i think this plugin is absolutely amazing for that. just like everything, it depends on what you are trying to make wheteher its considered useful or not. except for cakewalk however, that is lame as hell for all things.

Have to agree, it's a sampler with built-in additional effects after all... Better than the so-called string-ensemble VI's that were just PWM synths though.
