i love isaan and i hope to visit one day, i look for the simple things in life and i guess i am not your average tourist because i choose to seek out the real life of people living in any country not all the fancy cities and markets, advertisements flashy lights and screens.
I lived in Udonthani in 1980. I loved my time there. I am a blond Englishman and was young at that time, a novelty to the Thais there, someone from outer space. This posting is great, fantastic music. Thanks pratunamu...PS: Would anyone know who sings this song and its title ? Thanks again...
I got married to Thawanrat Ridsribun in Sakonnakhon, the best thing I ever done and I am happy. I love Thailand and the Thai people are the best in the world, I know I have travelled well. Webhave a lovely home together.
I have actually been there,it was back in year 2000. I stayed there for about a week and a half..then returned to pattaya. lots of rice fields and rice farmers.the family i stayed at,really made me feel welcome. they had 3 doughters, one lived in scotland, one in germany, and their youngest had just finshed her studies as a munk.. think she called herself Linda. remember that we sang "My heart will go on" in a karaokebar in udon ;)
Sure it is special if foreigners go there, because they have nothing touristic to view - by the means of most of the tourist that are going to the islands. but i love that place and it`s people
sure, go there. it is actually what people call "the real rural Thailand". But don't expect too many tourist attractions. Just go there for the people and the countryside
me too i feel im in isaan now with this music, more clips like this..... wanna ride buffalo now

The roads in Thailand are a lot better than in Laos. Most of the roads in laos are dirt and undeveloped.
