@JupiterCinema yes I did, Tobey Maguire was worst actor to EVER play Spider-man, he had literally none of the personal traits that make up Spider-man as a character. That’s like saying George Clooney made a great Batman. Andrew Garfield, unlike Maguire, actually knows what he's doing. And, unlike Maguire, manages to nail Spider-man's personality.

@spidermansidekick1 I used to protect the Raimi movies to no end but I'm excited for the reboot now. That being said, that is absolute bullshit. Tobey Maguire acted plenty like Spider-Man, he wasn't a wise ass but he was a good realistic Peter Parker. He captured the overall essence of the character and his wholesome values. He had that nerdy awkward charm to him that Peter was supposed to have and even though he cried, he still didnt let bad things stop him from doing the right thing.

@BamesJonifer um no, Spider-man ALWAYS uses his sense of humor to get through his problems, he is constantly joking to keep himself light, all Maguire does is......stands still and look depressed. If he doesn't use his sense of humor to get him through his problems THEN HE ACTS NOTHING LIKE SPIDER-MAN.

@spidermansidekick1 You can blame his humor on the writers not the actor. Sitting down crying when his uncle died wasnt unrealistic. In Spider-Man 2 when he gave up it made sense he was tired of having the weight of the world. The general morals of Peter Parker were still intact. You don't need to knit pick.

@GIAcOLeTraIN His crying was a choice made by the director, and I bet if you were indirectly responsible for your father figures death, youd cry too.Tobey Maguire was by all means a great Spider-Man given the world the movie is presented in, just as Andrew Garfield looks to be. Its like that old Keaton or Bale argument Batman fans have, they were both excellent in the role, but they were too vastly different portrayals to fairly compare.
