Test PIlots are the guys of legend, most of them flew at Edwards Air Force Base in So. California...and MANY of them were killed during these test flights. Watch "The Right Stuff" to begin an understanding of what it must have been like for these guys. Chuck Yeager. Scott Crossfield. Alan Bean. Neal Armstrong. Some of them went into NASA, some retired. Some eventually did both.

Tribute to the Dutch artist Herman Brood. He played a lot of Blues.
The album Bluefinger is a whole tribute to Herman Brood.
There is one cover of him, which inspired Black Francis to this tribute: You can't break a heart and have it.
Listen to the song Angels come to comfort you, and you will know how Herman Brood ended his life.

Oh, I dunno. I hear a definite blues sound buried in it somewhere. Not traditional blues though, mind you. Frank is the alternative of alternative.

because it was a deadly profession. one modification in wing design and you were history. It's also a riff on the whole tradition. eg Subterranean Homesick Blues (is THAT "blues"? not really)
