In a poll, South Koreans are actually willing to be accepting of North Koreans if the dictatorship falls and overall wants to better the relationships between the two countries. However, I do not see this case with China and HK which is a bit surprising that both sides are quite hardheaded about making progress with each other. It is not only a process of the government, it is also of the people.

There is no such thing as Hong Kong, it's a political ideology set by the British. The only real difference is Hong Kong people = Capitalist people. Mainland Chinese = Communist people (at the moment). It won't last much longer, as the mainland is becoming more Capitalist and the identity of China will consume Hong Kong. Speaking of HK like this will not exist 100 years from now.

However this might be argued as the mainland/shanghai effect due to the exodus in the 50-60s. @iamscar13 I think using N vs S Korea maybe a little too extreme for the China-HK relations. In a poll, South Koreans are actually willing to be accepting of North Koreans if the dictatorship falls and overall wants to better the relationships between the two countries. However, I do not see this case with China and HK which is a bit surprising that both sides are quite hardheaded about making progress with each other. It is not only a process of the government, it is also of the people.

Every July 1 (the day HK was returned to China), hundreds of thousands of people patrol the streets to protest against the CCP. These protests are getting bigger each year. It's true that HK people look down on mainlanders, but they hate the government more than they hate the ppl.

Millions of people are starving, and the people at the capital is brainwashed. China is almost a very capitalistic nation; which is ironic considering it is labeled as a communist country. As stated before, I find it appalling that that SK want to make a connection with NK, while HK and China does not.

@jay332007 你要搞清楚，双非父母去港生子是港政府起初为了使过剩的医院资源创造经济价值而提出婴儿可得香港身份的，产子并非免费，基本上来港生一个孩子没个十万不行。若非这样，港政府大可取消婴儿的香港身份资格，来港产子的内地夫妇至少减少九成。说到底还是同一个国家内部环境、资源分配极不对等造成的，任何一个大都市都面临这种外来人口的压力问题，考验的是当地政府的处理能力。另外请你注意措辞，没有“非法”在某地产子这一说法，若法律限定一国公民只允许在某区域生子，那必是不合理的恶法。

They move to Canada, leave their children and elders behind in Canada so they can get free education for the kids, and free health care for their old sick elders. The dad then goes back to live and work in china and make money but pays no Canadian taxes. If anything bad happen in china, the young couple still have their freedom and escape to Canada.
