Ok, I know what you mean. Though, technically they're not in the UK at all and are self-governing. They just have Queen Elizabeth as head of State. They aren't even in the EU. I would prefer a Republican Isle of Man myself. I think Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man should have more cultural links, as we all have Gaelic heritage.

I couldn't agree more mate. I think an interesting thing would be if all the Celtic nations (Scotland, Ireland, I of M, Wales, Cornwall, and Brittany) all formed there own bloc like a Celtic union, instead of being in the EU.

I think cultural links is most we can hope for and I'd like a co-operation of the 3 Gaelic languages to a greater extent. An economic bloc of the named nations wouldn't be viable. I think the EU is essentially a good project.

I find it hard to believe this is a relatively new song - I could swear I was taught it by my landlady at the Guest house in Douglas where my family used to stay, when I was a 6 year old..(During TT week)

and I'm now 60...

The song is the unofficial national anthem. And rightly so. Beautiful song about a very beautiful place, sung by the best singer in the Bee Gees. In my opinion anyway. Robins voice was exceptional.
