@TheElephant2009 Well, in Blazblue, every playable character has their own unique moves and moveset, no copy of each other (ahem yes street fighter i'm talking to you). But I've been playing Blazblue long enough to catch wind of all of the characters' movesets, like if you want a character with good offense with decent defense, go with Ragna. Or if you fancy a very good offense and defense but slow mobility (unless you get the unlimited version) character, you would have Iron Tager. Or if
@TheElephant2009 (CONTINUED) you like becoming a fast mover with mediocre attack and defense, you would like Taokaka. But when I first got the game, I first went to practice and done some of the tutorials and experimented with each character, picking out Ragna in the end. But, like I said each character is unique, with their moves, appearance, etc. But I highly recommend Blazblue over Street Fighter, because BB is easier to get to the controls and specials and easier to pick up and play.
absolutely beautiful match between two great players. Haven't got my hands on continuum shift yet but looks as if hazzama is a beast if he catches you in the air.
@mannymax The only reason Street Fighter is more popular is because everyone heard of street fighter and not blazblue. But to me blazblue is 5x more fun than street fighter.
@evi1d33d street fighters more popular because its been arund for years and was the first of its kind. And is always doing soething new that everyones copied. But I like BBCS better but I always pay respect to the originator strret fighter lol
@mannymax BlazBlue didn't get all the marketing hype that Street Fighter, Mortal Combat, Tekken, or Capcom VS Whatever get, but i find it to be AT LEAST as fun as any 'name brand' fighting game. It's fast-paced, very energetic, and fun to even just sit and watch while others play. On the console versions, the controls are mapped so that some special moves take one button press or one flick of the right stick, so people without the fighting game gene can still enjoy without too much suffering.
Between CT and CS, they are easier for some characters because arcsys changed the commands for some characters. But just based on gameplay and combo potential, I doubt they've changed.
@zerosquadron1 he soo looks like fox-face when he smiles but it's awesome and he makes it look good like when sebastian smiles~ i like his green hair! and kusagiri is awesome too! ice-powers!
@Iconoclast12100 Yeah, I totally agree, but I also heard that along with new character downloads they said that players will have the choice to download 7 different announcer voices (think the number is seven i'm not sure about that) for a fee of course =_=
Street Fighter fails in comparison to Blazblue. its faster and it has GATLING'S!!!! No time the square button right to chain two attack together. Fuck that. Street Fighter 4 should be dubbed "Turtle Fighter 4"
If any street fighter game should be worth praise its Street Fighter 3 Third Strike
Third Strike? That's exactly what I've been saying. Whose idea was it to literally go back in time and bring back an older version's (SF2) style to the newest sequel? They went back to the fire ball spamming and turtling era.
Holy shit at 0:45. Epic kick timing before the glorious ice sword hit. XD I beat someone with Jin without using a single ice attack. No loops either. Try it. ;P On CT.
Hey, CrimsonMoonM, the inputs for Astral Finishes changed, and you can do it on the last round you need to win rather than the last overall round. For instance, I believe Jin's AF changed from a 720 to HCB, F
Wow, I'm still impressed that sequels to fighting games still reuse assets from older games :P
Shouldn't that make the game a harder sell to casual players? I mean, it looks very similar to the first game, like Super Street Fighter IV does with its prequel.
This plays like any 2D fighter out there right now as far as move commands are concerned, so i guess so. If you just start, you'll get the hang of the moves fairly quickly though.
I had to say this, but this game probably beats all Street Fighters. It takes a lot more skill to play this game in my opinion. Then again, without Street Fighter we wouldn't have the games we do today like Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. ><
@LimitMyPain Without Street Fighter 2 we wouldn't have GG or BB. Street Fighter 4 is just...eh...Execution wise, SF4 is takes more skill, but Blazblue definitely has more game mechanics that you have to use properly (hell, Blazblue essentially has parrying with instant blocking), so in that regard Blazblue is more advanced and has a deeper engine.
Then there's Guilty Gear, which has really difficult execution, and just as deep of a game engine as Blazblue...
@Twilii3 honestly with how good these players are, do you think it would have went well for them if either and just tried one combo set up? It would have become very one-sided very quickly.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
so all jin gets is more fluid fighting and lik 1 johnny slash in the air and being able to project 2 ice shards at the same tym and i think an extra kick attak in the ground ....... wow how cheap lol they should make this a 20 dollar expansion lol
Honestly, another reason is a lot of the videos people would put would be from tournements and such. Due to the fact that only Rachel, Ragna, and Nu had there astral's on the original arcade version, they were the only three characters allowed to use them in tournements (either because it was considered canon or something).
However, the growing heat gauge also aids in the ability to use them. Granted Haku-men has always had that as a benefi, just never the option.
You mean the throw / astral combo? I was just pointing out the level of ease in this video specifically. I won't touch Jin even in training mode, so I wouldn't know he could do that in CT as well.
It's probably because they changed it so only YOU have to win one more round in order to execute it. Before, it was way too risky because it had to be the last match overall. Also, as a side note, I hate it when people flat out say who wins in the comments... Makes it almost pointless to watch the video.

I like it this way, now you can actually pull them off in the game and you look badass at the same time.

Plus, apparently (after having seen the video) Jin's astral is EXTREMELY easy to combo into from a mere grab.
