  • BTW, if anyone watching this would like this mod done on their NES, PM me and we'll work something out!

  • @ApolloBoy I do! I would like to have this mod done on my NES (since I'll be getting Mappy kids).

  • as soon as i can find a nes game with a famicom converter in it I want to try this out. I'd love to rip my nes a new one.

  • for famicom carts do u have to have to solder a 47k resistor to pins 3 and 40 of the expansion port?

  • @cavemano123: I just soldered a wire across the pins and then soldered a resistor and a 100 uF capacitor between the audio pin on the Famicom side of the converter and an expansion port pin on the NES side of the converter.

  • i thought it was 3 and 9

  • @YoshiFan501 It's pins 3 and 9 for the PowerPak mod and 3 and 40 for Famicom carts.

  • could you possibly make a vid showing how this little mod was made? another guy did something along these lines but never really released any info. it would be nice to be able to not have to hook up the famicom once in a while just cuz i want that extra sound.

  • So the famicom (I own one) has a different sound chip setup from the Nes? This 'External audio' you talk about is something that was not used on the Nes then? Need to do me some googlin' this is very interesting to find out.

  • they just moved the extra audio pins to the bottom expansion port.

  • Not too bad man, well done.
