here's where the "gateway effect" comes from: Marijuana (in the United States) is classified as a class 1 drug alongside heroin and LSD-cocaine is a class 2 and is actually less illegal than pot. But on a serious note people do tend to try other things after smoking bud for a while. It happened to alot of people I know and my friend killed herself 4 weeks ago because drugs ruined her life. It just takes a degree of self control to stay away from hard stuff.

I've been smoking bud since I was 13 and am now 20 and am hitting a bong right now, but I've never done any other drugs because I'm well aware of what they can do.
