Wow, if what I am hearing is correct, then that great spirit of the 60's and 70's has returned
with music that does not cater for flash-in-the-pan fashions, but exists because we are Human and need to create a sound to carry our pain, heartaches, glory and Joy-bless you guys and I hear you. XXX
the coolest thing about this collaboration is that they're all each other's biggest fans. It's like derek is saying to me "yeah I'm the best guitarist ever, but i've also got the baddest fuckin band to ever walk the earth"
I am seeing them on Oct 15 at a small venue that holds a little under 2000 people. It's in less than 2 weeks and there are still plenty of tickets available. I figured it would sell out fast!
It kills me that this video has only 39k views, but freaking Justin Bieber has videos with over 39 MILLION! The future of music is but a tiny glimmer of hope in an otherwise horrifying world of bubble-gum pop and computer-generated noise.
@SHnoregrets1979 The Allman Brothers had 2 drummers and they had cool and unique sound. Joe Bonamassa used 2 drummers @ Royal Albert Hall and it sounded amazing. I guess this is the sound he wants.
This is so great. Such insight. Haven't heard an album, or seen a band who've moved me so much for years. The gig in Paris is still running through my veins. I play the album and smile at the memory (only last week). Thanks guys. Susan's so right. People DO want to be moved by the music. And oh yes, we really are :-)
Every one i turn on to your music , no matter what type of music they currently listen to, loves what your doing.. your the one band i would gladly go any where to see!!!
I cant believe this still exists. I mean, new groups of prodigies...geniuses...call them what you want, but the fact that they are all doing this for the sake of art and not money. Having been Derek's biggest fan for several years now as well as a great admirer of Susan's work, its still hard for me to grasp just how important they are in the history of popular music and how tragic it is that they still do not have the audience size that they deserve.
@Shaneofearth I saw them on the 22nd in San Fran, met Derek in back of the theatre before the show. The show was sick. Sick I tell you! Derek did some super-human stuff.
If you haven't seen this band play live yet, do yourself a favor and find a show to get to. As someone who spends all of their free time (and money) seeing bands, I can say from the two Tedeschi Trucks Band shows I've seen recently that the whole band is truly world-class in every sense of the term. Talent, taste, style and grace! And make sure to pay attention to the drummers, Tyler "The Falcon" Greenwell and JJ Johnson. They're as tight as they get.
I've already shared this... if people don't know about you, they should. The talent, drive, motivation and love of music comes through so clearly. I'm so happy to be a part of it as a listener and music fan.

Anyone know if the keyboard player has been with Derek for a long time?
gypsygenie1 6 months ago
@gypsygenie1 Since 1999. So yes, the keyboard player has played 2000+ shows with Derek over the years. I would call that a long time.

One of those rare albums, where every track has some meaning in your life, and shifts your emotions.
I bought this album after hearing 'Midnight in Harlem',and was subsequently blown away by the rest of the tracks.
Tedeschis' vocals (and legs) are sublime, the rest of the band,(including Trucks) are awesome.
A great album,debut or not.

She`s talking the truth....these people are palying the music , not a sequencer. Lets bring flesh back into the picture, house brothers.
