Dennis Miller needs another talk show. He's a conservative now but it would be a good broadening of the genre. Still be entertainment focused but with a slight conservative bent. I worked in a record store in 1990 when this came out. This album got played over and over. It wasn't until recently that I learned that "Joey" was guitarist Marc Moreland of Wall Of Voodoo. He died of liver failure in 2002.
@echo962 Moreland was the subject of the song Joey. Napolitano wrote the song about being in love with an alcoholic, confirmed the song was about Moreland in the Concrete Blonde D.C. concert in 2002. Johnette said:
"I met Marc Moreland in Australia the first time (C.B.) toured. That was the first country we toured outside of America. We were opening for Wall of Voodoo in Australia and we just became tighter than anything in a very short time. There was a lot of mutual worship there."

I'm sorry that I didn't find out about them until this song. I don't know if they're even together anymore. Recollections is the only CD I have from them, it's rare to find one that I can listen to all the way through. I agree, Johnette has one of the very best voices I've ever heard. Her range is seamless and amazing. The whole band is a credit to thier craft. It's nice to see someone take thier music and message seriously.
