These kinds of videos are unfortunate for players who don't know any better and then listen to them and end up developing bad techniques. If you can't get a Wraith to S with a straight release then you don't have the arm for it.
Only watch dg vids from pros on youtube, plain and simple.
@jspaulding91 Ha yea you're right. Why even bother. I'll just go throw my new Crystal Buzzz I got...excited to get back out playing now that snow is gone.
@13yofrolfer wow you have to resort to cussing at me? musta hit a nerve eh?
I didn't say I can't throw 300 with a putter...I've done it with my BangerGT. I was doubting your bragging. The ratio of teenagers playing frolf who THINK they're awesome and those who ARE is about 100:1. I see so many teens throwing drivers as putters and trying to throw Bosses with their noodle arms. Idiots. Not serious about DG.
So you saying 450 with a Wraith is sad...tells me you're a teen who THINKS he's beast.
@officerrob idk bout 450 with a roc is possible but my older brother can throw a roc the length of a football field from goal post to goal post so i say its not impossible. Another thing, I dont see where you get off calling everyone liars on comments and such. Who cares, let em believe what they want and let em get destroyed in a pdga tourney like you probably would =) there ya go big man
Wraith is the only kind of disc I've ever used. Ha. Only because it's the first disc I've found and I've never gotten a new one because I'm so damn used to it, I don't need another.
i know guys that throw tomahawks i know guys that throw thumbers.... That is awesome!! INDUCE THE HELIX!!! This video is what a bunch of weed and a camera will get ya!! I love it!!
@sousaphone01 - if you're getting the same amount of distance from the Roc as you can with your Wraith...then your arm is not up to Wraith power. Keep throwin and you'll get there.
The Pro, or Champion, or DX, or Star before the name of the disc just pertains to the type of plastic that the disc was made of. Champion plastic is most durable; DX has nice grip; the Pro plastic has a combination of those qualites.
Our Champion Line discs retain original flight characteristics for an extended period of time. "Whether used in heavily wooded situations, or on extremely rugged courses, our Champion Line plastic will continue to perform predictably and avoid damage better than any other plastic" ......
avoid damage? Better than any other plastic? That was a quote from the innova website btw. :-)
@SkipAce420 Actually, no, it's not. Star plastic is AS durable as Champion, but has the grip of the DX plastic. It's not MORE durable than the Champion plastic.
uh, dude...you are merely showing off your ignorance. The thing about Star plastic is not that its MORE durable than the Champ...but that is JUST AS durable while being much grippier.
For me, the Pro Wraith is THE BEST driver out there. It tends to fly very straight & also farther than any other driver I've tried, & I've tried most of them!
great vid!! thanks for the tips..im gonna go out get a pro wraith..ive been rockin all champions (hate stars) wanted to try pro...I like how you mentioned everyone has their own style that works for them...
This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. The "wing up" comment is really just saying throw it anhyzer (which is exactly what you would do if you had no power.) Maybe someone who is actually good at disc golf (and not just "knows guys" who are good at disc golf) should be giving advice. Despite what he says, there are a LOT of "wrong ways" to throw a disc.
I think what he's saying is everybody plays the game differently. Some of us have poor form on the tee but compensate with a great short game or vice versa.
Do what works for you.
His comment on throwing level has actually helped my mid-range game =/
good point, at around 2:40 he says he knows a lot of people who throw different shots. but for putting and approaches everyone has their own style. i would say technique would qualify most in throwing off the tee, then comes a mix of technique and what feels right to you
@13yofrolfer - you're 14? are you sure you're not 10? learn to type or spell or both. =P Oh and 300ft off the top of a hill doesn't count as real distance. heh.
@officerrob Dont talk shit mother fucker. What is your name i am looking you up on PDGA. Chances are you are just awful if you cant believe 300 from a challenger....and this guy saying he can get 450 with a roc it is deffinatly possible a few people at my course can but i doubt he really can and i am 16 not 14.....typo my b.
your so full of crap, ken climo's farthest throw ever was 555 feet, and he is widely considered the best ever, 300 feet is an average throw for a person in there second season, the top pros only average 450 on there farthest shots...sure some can throw them farther but distance doesn't win comps, accuracy and consistency, along with a good short game are much more important.
The buzz is really stable? the buzz is one of my favorite discs, but its hardly stable. if you want to put any real power on it you have to throw it with extreme hyzer. Unless you're a pro i doubt that. I don't think you quite understand how far that is.
@gwartard - like I said to the teeniebopper kid...moster distance off a huge hill doesn't count. cause thats the only way ur getting 450+' out of a buzz or roc.
instead of throwing chest high, you should try lowering your arm, extent your arm more backwards and rip it.This way you will regenerate more speed and then you will see this disc level out from a hyzer and even fly some more to the right before coming back to the left.
It might also be a good idea to go check a disc out on the Innova website for some more info....
LOL Climo has 12 wraiths in his bag?!? Who are you and why are you spreading disinformation about the sport I love. Climo does carry wraiths, but he does not carry 12 of them. The wraith does not teach you much about your technique as is is one of the fastest drivers made and will mask lots of technique flaws. Putters and midranges will teach you MUCH more about your technique. Let me quote ghostbusters 2in saying "everything you are doing is bad, I want you to know this."
@CpJ123 How do you know how many discs someone has in their bag? And why does it matter anyways? I think you, my friend, are the one killing this sport. Everyone has their own style that works for them. So to sit there and say this guy doesn't know what he's talking about is so arrogant its hard to capture. Your an idiot
@MATTx602 hey matt. stfu. I play a lot of disc golf. for my local club and in pdga sanctioned events. If I became pro. I would NOT want a loser with a fallowing like this telling the world via Youtube what I throw if he is going to be completely wrong. He needs to get his facts. I've played with a lot of pros. Most pros don't even carry 12 drivers in their bag at any given time, If anything, they have more putters or mid range discs. 12 wraiths?? haha good luck in the wind.
@zepplinkin You are a prime example of the judgemental douchebags that ruin this sport, and sports in general. So what if he lied about whats in somebody else's bag? That is a great disc and he's just trying to get a point across. You should stop judging the way other people play anf focus on your own game because your probably a liar and suck completely. Your arrogence makes me sick. Shoot yourself, please
Putter-idk what plastic but its a Discraft Omega Millenium Edition or somehing (i found it used and its so easy to release and its heavy enough to not deflect off the chains)
well actually that is not the right story. I used to be on team millennium and this company was owned by John Houck and Harold Duvall. John used to be the main man of the pdga and he has his own dg company in Texas. Harold and his brother + Dave and Tim(rip) are Innova.
So Millennium was partly Innova. Harold stopped and now Millennium belongs to John Houck.
