I'm from Chile and I don't speak english but I just want to say that here we vote on Sundays and in December. But here voting is obligatory, if you don't go.... mmmm is complicated and have to pay a fine.
But more people vote when is on Saturday or Sunday, it's common sense.
maybe low voter turnout isn't because it's inconvenient but because people know their vote is meaningless, and maybe it's better not to encourage high voter turnout that would present a fraudulent picture of enfranchisement?
it simple, so working people can't vote as easily and people without jobs, it should be a Saturday or Sunday.. Then working people and non working people can vote more conveniently. But the power that be would not want that......
Why Tuesday?
Why Daylight Savings Time!
Tuesday is tradition and not necessarily inconvenient but Daylight Savings Time serves no purpose anymore and I ask what or how does it save.

Another benefit is that if I vote on Saturday, all the alcohol in my bloodstream might reveal to me who I *actually* want to be President.

Hmm, i never really thought about it, but it makes sense. But doesn't early voting make up for the lack of convenience?

SharpieShawn is correct, no one care about the voice of anyone younger than 18. If only they lower the voting age.

Of course if would make more sense to hold elections on a Sunday, but that would get in the way of people's shopping... so forget it.
