I don't know who arranges this Youtube music but thank you very much. I've already had my three score years and ten plus two score extra of somebody else's. Wonderful, I'll still be listening to it for another 20 years.
The vocals, arrangement, instrumentation, melody & lyrics make this one of pop music's magic performances. A half century later it shimmers with the same scintillating brilliance it had back in 1962. That era was the high point in American culture, a time when we were at last moving forward toward peace, prosperity, egalitarian justice, diversity & personal distinction. We shared the spirit of all being made in the Divine Image, reflected in our music.
Ummm. How deeply The Drifters touched your every nerve with this beautiful classic piece of music. The sensuality of this era will never be duplicated. Artists like The Drifters used their voices only to express what was felt far deeper in their minds and bodies: Their souls. Unforgettable. If only music continued to be of this caliber. Warning to the bourgeois trolls: keep your unwanted acidic and caustic meaningless babble to yourselves, and instead pray you will one day get laid.
I am 63 and feel so young as we used to go dancing alot and the guy that danced the last dance with you really was the one that you went home with and he took you home and there was no sex---all innocent, sweet, great times and boys respected girls and kept the pants zipped up or else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@rosebuddy47 How true are your words! I am 72 years old and remember those dances with an infinite longing. I remember the girsl: had a light clear eyes you were reading the soul within.
That string section is the flavour of the 60s and what alift it gives you and the feel of the simple rythem and the sentement of the song it works,,,,,A TRU GEM garanteed to melt your inteneds heart a SHOOFERCAT 10/10
As a 23 year old, I can't help but have a soft spot for true music. The music of today is an abortion of sound. This, on the other hand, is truly inspired music. Simple, elegant, and timeless. Classic.
@animaldecirco They play this all the time on the oldies station in my town, and I see the prom scene every time. Such a perfect song for that moment.
You give me 10 cents and I went straight to John Moore Jux box across the street from where I lived in St.James, Barbados back in the 60's. I would punch K2 to get this song and G7 for Sam Cooke's Another Saturday Night. I was about seven years old at the time; and I was not embarrassed to dance; now I realize that I can't dance, but at that time I didn't mind.
it takes me right back to my childhood in 118th Avenue in St. Albans Queens... we had a porch where there was a radio that we kids could hear out on the stoop... i can close my eyes and hear the sounds... smell the smells...
I visited Jamaica in 1990 , is really a facinating country . The Towns , I had visited were Kingston , Montego Bay - beautiful beach and blue sea , Ochio Rios and Port Antonio.
Remembered - Bob Marley Museum and Blue Mt Coffee. Hope , I do get to visit this country again . True amazing experience . .
