For some reason this song reminds me more of growing up in the 80s than any other song. Which is odd since I never owned this album (I had Reach the Beach though). And I don't think it was even something I listened to a lot. But I keep coming back to this song.
@jaytotheell the pyramid symbolizes power, and the eye symobolizes the all-watching-ness of whatever the crap they wanted. They anted people to be fearful of the symbol that this organization watched over them, no matter where they went or what they did.
Lol, thank you History channel for knowledge that is completely useless :3
U have to ask yourself ,How did they know,They are singing about current events, just as ,Ultravox sang (White China ,One small Day)listen to those lyrics. Tears for Fears (Sowing The Seeds of Love,Advice for The young at heart) Peter Gabriel (Big Time,In your eyes),Talking Heads(Same as it ever was,Nothing but Flowers) Watch all those video's For illuminatti Symbols,Like The Pyramid on The Back of your Dollar. These Bands knew of The plan to eliminate you,and it has already started,Ur in it .
@Warrior4god13 Life is the same...remember the Ying-Yang....when you go out of your house and you come back, the sun, the moon, an eagle's nest, your watch!!!!!!!!!!! It goes away at one point (staring point) and it comes back! Returning point...life and death altogether bro...nevertheless...amazing song!! Peace bro!!
@jaytotheell a lot... its the all-seeing eye, it is a very important symbol in symbology and secret societies etc. Deep shit, I'm not about to break it down.
Worst case scenario imagined by this song averted. Thanks to the doctrine of mutually assured destruction by the US and making the USSR eventually cave like the spineless idiots they are.
WOW I had long forgotten this fantastic tune !!!! AND I can think of no other song that could better describe the current world situation, than this one... Or possibly "Driven To Tears" by Sting & The Police...
Easily my favorite Fixx song. Saw them live way back when & it was a really good show. What a classic song, yet whenever I see anything on the band if this song is mentioned at all it's as an afterthought! Must be in the minority, but while I dug most of their music, this song is just one of those hypnotic tunes that caught me from the 1st listen & still owns me!
*********The vid is not meant for the song. It started as best quality/pirate radio sort of thing when I couldn't find quality audio versions of songs. The flashing image was actually 3 versions and I figured WTF. Use them all. They'll be easy to see among the listings of search results.************
@jaytotheell Look up Fulda Gap Germany, and the Cold War. Look up the lyrics for this song. This song was about a massive military standoff in Europe from the period of 1948 - 1991, and the heightened tensions of the 1980's.
At some cosmic level wii are all at home wondering why we are having such a hard time conquering the world today. It went so well yesterday. (kt) changin' all da rules overnight delivery for discount dreams. Yes, we'll take the quaint little 150 sitting over in the corner. You know the one. And all the rest, just didn't pass the test. New lyrics for an art concept song by Socks. Smiles (kt)
@Jobeykobra you got that right, i'm 57 and grew up during the golden age of music from the british invasion on mid sixties. like the british groups brought the blues back to the american kids then, i am keeping the blues alive here in chicago by always paying tribute to the legends in my singing and playing
This was in heavy rotation!!! Can you beleieve it? I think poular music is at an all time low. I know I'm older and that's what my parents probably said but come on.
Maybe so, but i grew up with WLIR a radio station on Long Island and some of the early alternative music groups that they played were the fixx, clash, alted images, haircut 100, trans x, duran, pys. furs, talk, talk.
