  • I LIKE THE WATER EFFECTIVE MAN THE WAY YOU HAVE THE WATER IN THE CORNER OF THE SET PROVIDEING JUST A HINT OF WATER.V GOOD .WATR IS I THINK THE MOST DIFFICULT DIORAMA FEATURE.ANYWAY BRO NICE RUBBLE WORK VERY WELL DONE GOOD PAINTING TIPS ALLSO .

  • GREAT VIDEO TRU CRAFTSMENSHIP .

  • great tip ,thanks...

  • @epicfantasy will do

    arjeffs :)

  • i think what would make the diorama look great ( not like it already isnt)would be to have a bigish tower (like the one in sleeping beuty) right in the middle of the path

    ~Arjeffs~

  • @arjeffs That is a great idea! And that tower from Tangled is simply wonderful. I did make a small diorama with that tower in it though, check out my vid called "A secret Geode"

  • i dont get why you dont paint the edge of the base. just aint is black but dont leave it like that cuz it makes it look horrible. if you paint it into a darker colour than i will say that this is one of the best dioramas i ever seen:D

  • @FoktiDavid Good point. YOu are so right. I should paint around the edge of the base. Would look better. Thanks.

  • Hey man, (or anyone whoi has tried this) Can you break the cork down smaller for smaller scale stuff or does the cork not break up so well the smaller it gets?

  • @kaoticakarthall Depends on how small you want the cork to get. It will break down pretty small and still look great. You will have to test it.

  • @epicfantasy Thanks dude, i'm really going to try this out now. Nice vids so please keep em up.

  • Cat litter mixed with that would look great also.

  • @Goblues1980 This is a really great tip. Thanks!

  • For the cork rubble I used a variety of grays and whites. And I did some washing technique. You should match the color of the rubble roughly to the buildings around them (if any).

  • Greetings from Poland! I love your work! Will get back to what I once truly did with passion, thanks to You! Keep giving passion! A.

  • Which material is the bottom?

  • The very bottom of this diorama is wood. ON top of that I used paper towels soaked in plaster of paris.

  • Thank you!

  • what is rubble

  • Rubble is broken building pieces. Picture a city after an eartquake or war with all kinds of broken buildings, chunks of concrete etc.

  • epicfantasy can u use a picture frame for the bottom of the diorama??

  • I wouldnt, unless you replace the glass with a piece of wood. Then it would probably work.

  • ok thanks

  • Woah Nice Diorama! I love the Halloween Diorama Best!

  • Might make nice trees too?

  • Great tip. It's worth a try.The cork might make good trees too.

  • No offense but your sniffy nose or what ever is kinda loud...

  • If you tink about it,you can propably cut cork into small rectangles for bricks and stack them one on top of each other to make like a wall maybe???

  • Great idea! thanks.

  • where can u get the grass matirial from also if you paint the cork how would u do it and where can u buy the cork and walls

  • hobby shops sell them dude

  • You can use the bristles from old paintbrushes to make the grass and cork can be bought at a hobby shop or at a wine supply shop. Even have it on amazon.

  • where do you buy the green thing on the ground??

  • from amazon. The company that makes it is called Woodland Scenics.

  • Comment removed

  • Great ideas, I use real sand, rubble plaster etc ground down to scale, foam for walls, buildings etc. I never buy ready made materials, lke buildings. I save myself a fortune really

  • If you ever do a WWII diorama i would suggest Forces of Valor. They are very detailed and sturdy. Good vids too!

  • Thanks for the tip. I will look into Forces of Valor and I am definitely going to do a WWII diorama.

  • thanks for the video but how do u make fire? if you wanted to make a scene where a castle is being stormed or something?

  • This is such a great idea. i will definitely make a video tutoirial on how to do fire. Stay tuned and thanks!

  • can u make lik a smaller scale boards with a river on itso i wood have an idea on how to make a large scale board with it

  • Are you looking for a water making tutorial? I have a vid with water making in it. The id is: cazBiXnUYjQ

I also have a mississippi river diorama with water in it on my website go to stormthecastle and look for the mississippi river diorama. The search engine should bring it right up. Let me know if this is what you need.

  • looks amazing.Thanks a lot!

  • Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks for making the viedeos. They are verry helpfull. ;)

  • you sound a lot like Vince Vaughn!

  • People tell me that all the time! I should call Jennifer Aniston! Didn't he go out with her for a while?

  • can you please make a wwii building ruin???? for i:16 scales???? please

  • I probably can't. It would be a fun project but I don't have the time. I am going to do something WW2 but it will either be 1/32 or 1/72. 1/16 is a lot of work!

  • 1/72nd!! Yes, good idea, i want to see some of your 1/72nd work.. :)

  • Thanks, It should be fun. I used to do ww2 dioramas when I was a kid so the skill should come back to me. going to do a couple of tanks I think.

  • Ah man, You should make a 1/72 scale diorama, Or do you like 1/72? thats my favorite because, Cheap and easy and look awsome, Im thinking of moving to 1/35th but i havent thought of it yet. Anyway, You should make a WW2 Diorama, Itd look awsome, Ive seen all of your videos, THEY ROCK! The water one helped. :)

  • good tut 5/5 first i used a dried mix of sand and coll for making rocks

  • srry i mean glue not coll

  • This video helped me out so much with my WWII diorama. It was a tank rolling through a building. I needed a lot of rubble, and this helped me out so much.

I also figured out that I can make really good destroyed bricks by using crushed up clay pipes.

  • Thanks! I am glad I could help. Your idea about crushed clay pipes is great. What kind of clay pipes. Could you send me some info or pics. I will do a video tutorial on it!!

  • i finished my ww2 diorama of a german checkpoint and im gonna try making a half destroyed bunker built into the side of a hill and im gonna use your vids, any tips?

  • used it in a D-Day diorama. thank you!

  • Awesome, thats the perfect use for rubble. Thanks for watching!

  • Hey your tutorials are great but could you use something else but a white background, the camera takes the brightest color and makes it white and make the other color darker and it degrades the quality of the video, if would make your video even more awesome.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't realize this was what was happening. I will paint the whole thing a slightly off color like a light beige or light brown. Would that work better? Let me know what you think.

  • Could i use styrofoam(sorry for spelling)

    for rubble?

  • Yup, you could definitely use styrofoam for rubble. There are different textures of styrofoam. some will be great and some not so good. Experiment with it and paint it to see how it looks.

  • Great Video, Thanks

    GBU

  • I took sponge to make rubble.its good too but it sucks a lot of color.

  • Great idea, sponge would make good rubble but I would imagine it does soak up a lot of paint, it is sponge! I should do a tutorial on this, because sponge also works well for small shrubs and plants.

  • I made bushes from it and I paint materials with the wotch should not be regaular.

  • can you do a vid on how to make mud. i want to do a tank stuck in mud scene and cant find any good ways of doing it

  • I have to give some thought to making realistic mud. There is a product that I been thinking about trying thatmight be perfect for this.

  • what means whasch ? the rubble

  • Hi, Rubble means ruins or junk, like what you would find in a junk yard or around a destroyed building.

  • ^^ I m sorry for my englisch . I meant the taunt to wasch . u used it when you spoke about the painting I hear it very often but I don t know what it is and how to do it.

  • Maybe it is about washing? I do a painting technique called "Washing" where I was the cork with water. I paint some dark black on it, then I brush on water, it makes the black settle into the cracks very nicely. Maybe thats it?

  • yes thank you^^

  • hey will :D

i was wondering that cork you said was hard to break and when you did it had an artifical cut, synthetic i believe. I guess if people had them laying around with a bit of adaptation you could turn them into tree stumps or something :)

  • Thats a really great idea! Its a good improvisation. Those corks, whole or broken a bit could make perfect tree stumps. Its all about improvising. Nice suggestion capp! thanks

  • no problem :D

  • Thanks that gave me alot of ideas. But how do you build those awesome trees.

  • Hi, thanks for watching! Those trees are made from kits by a company called woodland scenics. I have a tutorial on my website on how to make them.
