Los vengo escuchando desde que tenia 6 años, ý asta la fecha creci con la influencia de The Doors....a mi padre le gustaban las rolas de The doors....
JM mentions this piece in an interview from 1969 with Jerry Hopkins: "We needed another song for this album. We were racking our brains trying to think what song.We were in the studio, and so we started throwing out all these old songs. Blues trips. Rock classics. Finally we just started playing and we played for about an hour, and we went through the whole history of rock music—starting with blues, going through rock & roll, surf music, Latin, the whole thing. I call it 'Rock is Dead.' "
I don't think it's about trying to understand Jim and his meaning behind what he wrote, I think it's more what it makes you feel, what it makes you think. Getting where someone is coming from is the first half while you gotta bring the equation home yourself...
@SirGarforth Actually they stole it back from a bunch of hair bands that liked to wear lip stick and dress in drag! Oh yes and they all said whooo yahhhhh in at least half their songs!
@SirGarforth Rock is not dead yet, it will be when AC/DC will stop playing :D Then rock will be dead for couple of years and then it will ressurect and live on :D
so much giberish...i just said i dont want to hear no talk about no...demostration, i also said no talk about no cremation!!! so lets BOOGIE ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!! DIG?!?!
I have been looking for information on that album for a long time. I own it too. Do you have any idea what it is worth? I can never find anything about it.
''Rock is dead Rock is dead must be something else instead...'' (?) Trying to understand more Jim is pretty much like solving a puzzle, the pieces are spread all over... So here is a verse from The Soft Parade, also written in 1969: ''...Welcome to the Soft Parade All our lives we sweat and save Building for a shallow grave Must be something else we say Somehow to defend this place Everything must be this way Everything must be this way...''
@Pmitsou123 money didn't buy morrison happiness. why was he so unhappy. i suspect he was self-medicating b/c of maybe a dsyfunctinoal family life (being an army or navy brat and having a strict father).
morrison was extremely smart, but he had problems. people will never know what they were exactly. and that's why a lot of people are still attracted to him. why would someone with all that money and girls and being a rock star essentially drink himself to death? it's an ever-ending mystery...
@brengf It is only a mystery to those that do not understand those times. The old days might seem like easier times. They were only easy to a degree. Parents were tough on their kids for a reason. Most parents in that era had parents that were tough on them too. Parents have been tough on their children so they grow up to be good citizens and have a real life. Not a life of drugs and living on the streets.

The Doors was a dynamic band! Listen, I'm not sayin' others wasn't, but their success and progression was the result of it's quite uniqe ensamble...
