i had one of these last january. So painful and you dont even realise you have it untill your in so much pain. was being sick for months but didnt realise what was wrong with me. However i think mine was a bit bigger than this!
OMG... that is rediculous... how did it get that far? I would be soooo pissed, I have PCOS and regularly have ovarian cysts and there's just no way my doctor would let something like that happen to me.... crazy.... poor girl.
Wow... Are you okay? I hope that didn't hurt you much as it hurt me to watch. It looked like a giant tumor had grown inside you. I'm sorry for that. And you said it crushed some of your organs? I'm sorry and hope your okay.
i had a large cyst removed on wednesday just gone. it measured 19cm x 27 and had a circumference of 323 cm it was bigger then a football
it has been the most scary week ever to only come into hospital for a wee infection then to be told you have a huge lump growing inside you was extremley scary .... i have to wait 2 weeks to find out if it is benign or malignant so i am praying obviously
I was wondering if you know the dimensions of the cyst. I am having surgery in two weeks to get mine removed and I was hoping to compare the dimensions my doctor gave me after a CT scan.
Also how was the recovery period? I am very nervous about the whole thing.
Just a bit more information about this type of operation for those of you who don't understand it.
I had a Cystadenoma, larger than the one shown. Most of these are benign, though some can be malignant and some borderline. Mine was borderline with rare cells. This is an ovarian cyst, and can grow to quite a size. They often grow to such a large size because the symptoms one gets are often misdiagnosed.
Mine was squashing all my major organs and extremely uncomfortable.
I'm not sure what I had. The surgery was unplanned and very sudden because I did not know I had a cyst until I had a scan the same day of the surgery. Yes, it was benign.
Did you have what is called a "Mature Ovarian Teratoma"? Forgive me for asking but my daughter had one removed in May. Tomorrow we do the 6 month scan. I am really praying that nothing will be found. Was yours benign?
I read on internet that vitamin D has positive effect on ovavarian cyst control. Expose yourself to morning sunlight everyday for atleast 10 minutes. This might help.
vitamin d does absoultly nothing!!!. im 18 and i have constant cysts and multiple ones at the same time and ive been taking 1200mg of vitamin d/calcium everyday for 3 years and trust me it does not work
@ donnad23 "ive been taking 1200mg of vitamin d/calcium everyday for 3 years..."
Hey, first I think you meant 1200IU not mg. I've never seen D sold in mg.
Second, in midday summer sun over about 1/2 hour, a typical Caucasian produces about 10,000 to 15,000IU of D3, assuming decent skin exposure. So, your taking 1,200 is way lower than nature intended.
I've been taking 10,000IU D3 for about 6 months & my own cyst has shrunk and never grown the whole time.
I had a cyst removed (11 cm) on June 15 and unfortunately it had damaged my ovary so they had to remove that as well. I am feeling almost 100% now but I am still taking it easy. Goodluck to those who are going to have this procedure done.
Praise God. My 9 year old daughter was diagnosed with a mature ovarian teratoma. The Doctor said that it was benign. However tomorrow we go for the 6 month CT scan. I pray everything is well. Thank you for sharing your story.
I can't begin to imagine how much pain that person was in, and how much better she must feel now. I had one that was 14 cm (removed) and now one that is 10 cm (to be removed soon, I hope) and that is enough pain for one lifetime. But a basketball? Yikes!
Was yours what they call an ovarian teratoma? My daughter had a mature teratoma removed 6 months ago. We are now getting a CT scan done. I pray everything is ok.
Wow, that thing is HUGE. I currently have a complex cyst in my left ovary. Complex meaning its like a cluster of three or four about 9cm altogether. I'm getting a laparascopy soon but hope they leave my ovary intact. I'm terrified y'all
yes, basically. But the cyst i had was full of blood not pus - they sucked all the blood up and jst removed the cyst skin. they used pinhole surgury with mine so the scar wasnt as big.. just 4 small circles.
yes, laprascopic surgery is a new method they are using for ovarian cysts thats probably why most of the video's shown on youtube will have been using the old method - the big incision. im so glad i had my cyst recently rather than a few years ago otherwise i would have had a huge scar.
OMG, that girl must have been in so much pain. I have a cyst on my right ovary the size of a baseball, and am having it removed march 17th, i am in alot of pain with my cyst i cant even imagine how much pain she would be in My goodness!!
Did you have what was a teratoma? Was it benign? I hope so. My daughter had a Mature teratoma removed in May. Tomorrow we will be going for the 6th month CT to make sure everything is ok. I pray everything is well. Do we have anything to worry about?
It was Benign thank goodness, I have what is called Polycystic ovarian disese, plus endrometrosis, that cause me to get huge cysts all the time then they rupture , i've had 3 surgeries so far. Since march they all came back, 2 ruptured, I cant howeverh ave any more sugeries. However the dr has a treatment for me to help me ovulate properly, injections to help me not get those painful cysts,& maybe get pregnant, ive been tryin for over 2 yrs.I hope that your checkup goes ok, and i will pray for u
I have a 9cm cyst atm, on my ovary. and I had another on my other ovary but that one burst, we never knew how big that one was ? they are extremely painful though! I might be having mine taken out, but I was told it isn't 'big enough' yet to cause concern '-_-
err you might want to re talk that with your doctor.. if it gets over 6cm its a major health concern it has to be taken out immediately, or i think it can burst
well if they remove both ovaries shes not gonna be able to have a baby, however they should really try to figure out what the growth is before they think about removing her ovaries, just in case it can be cured.
i have also cyst..5.4cm big..could be mine ovary remove or they remove only my cyst? pls answer wanna know..i never have baby yet..i wish to have 1 or 2 kids very soon..im getting older..lol

my mother had this kind of cyst ...she sufferd a surgery 2 months ago...she recoverd pretty fast and now she's fine! don't be scared! ( if you didn't removed the cyst yet) sorry for my bad english
does it hurt?. i am going to be operated on june15 and i am scare do you feel it when you are at sleep? need to know how does a person feel going under and been operated like that. i hate pain and i care of dieying while i am been operated so if any one had this operation please let me know how it felt
i looked pregnant, i thought i was just getting fat, and they had to drain 2 leters out of me before they could take mine out. mine was the size of a 8 month old baby.
i had a c-section basically, and my left ovary was taken out with it b/c the tumor was so large.
There is a certain size that a cyst has to be (in most cases) for doctors to decide to have it removed. My doc said removal of a cyst will not influence my chances of having kids.

I was being treated for 2 yrs for Irritable Bowl Syndrome, until I got to where I looked 9 months pregnant, breathless, and in great discomfort, and saw a different doctor who sent me for a ultra sound. I am happy to answer questions.
I am going in next week for the removal of one the size of an orange on my right ovary. I know thats nothing compared to what you went through but still scary, I'm a big scaredy cat with surgeries :) Do the give you a big needle in the back? are you partially awake? How did you feel the first day after?
I did have epidural in the back, but was under when inserted, and felt nothing. Also had general anaesthetic. The epidural is mainly for pain relief after the op. I felt good when I came out of theatre, no pain, my legs were a little numb from epidural, but that soon went. If you have an oxygen mask on take big deep breaths, it helps get rid of the anaesthetic and worked really well.I am 8 wks post op, and feel great, trust me. But it takes time. There will be ups and downs.Good Luck

In general, cyst this big doesn't materialize overnight. It's either the patient doesn't really care about the growing cyst or doesn't have the money to fix it. When it gets this big, there are people who will help out financially to get it removed. Lastly, this guy on the video happen to be a gal.
