And from my experience, Wario is not such the villain, so he shouldn't be the one who's supposed to attack the other contestants. More doubts rely on the game itself. Shadow seems to be depicted as Luigi's rival in these games. Also, his appearance here seems to be similar to the one in Shadow the Hedgehog (game) and he looks more velvety like in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. At the end I like how it shows all the characters in groups and then tails on his own. Lol.
