  • look at the audience back then much skinnier , not like the macdonald`s fatties we have today.

  • think ive still got the white label in the loft !!!!! and also the sleeved version !!!

  • Oh the shame. I was the dick in the seat. I turned up to Elstree having asked to be made up as an old man reading a storybook. They said "we can put some talcum powder in your hair to make you look old" to which I said "No, I'll just look like a dick with talcum powder in my hair", Hence I'm wearing what I turned up in.This was the second of 2 performances and I have no idea why I have a "we want Rob Curling" sticker on. I probably thought I was being hilarious. I was a dick.

  • @TheFederalDrugs .............lol, hats off to you mate if you really are the dude in the old grandpa chair.....something to show the grandkids and make them laugh in the future.....good man !!

  • @TheFederalDrugs I think everyone acted like a dick in the early nineties, lol.

  • i learnt to mix with this tune....is it a crime.. ?

  • wow, MILES off key! still a great tune

  • Which one are you? This track ROCKS by the way. Kudos! Great performance too.

  • If only people knew how important this track was for Mark Pritchard to get some money to buy enough kit to make the Reload album! He has gone on to be one of the most innovative producers out there. From Harmonic 313, to Africa High-tek. Check out Warp records his music is all over there. Well done Mark you deserve serious recogntion and this track was cool back in the day - we loved it!

  • @kirstyhawkshaw Yes, I agree. This track is a corker, as was the follow-up, 'Monkey'. There is an even better TOTP performance of this: type in 'Digital, Running Out Of Time'. This track (also awesome) comes on first though. Such elan and unique dance music! Incidentally, Kirsty Hawkshaw is THE world's most beautiful vocalist EVER!

  • @disinterestful Totally agree. Monkey was an absolute classic and should have been huge. Also re Kirsty... LOVED the Mind Fruit album especially. Still play it loads.

  • It was shite like this that killed the rave scene...

  • Leaves you sort of wondering if Ruhbarbs secret weapon was mustard gas!

  • The girl dressed in black who first appears at 00:9 has got a nice arse.

  • Does anyone have the Rainbow rave with zippy, george and bungle?

  • @saxonfield I'm hoping every copy has been burnt and its ashes stamped into the ground.

  • What year was this? 1991 or 1992?

  • @saxonfield Roughly about December 1991 or January 1992. Song was released in December 1991.

  • As someone else said. So shit its brilliant.

  • slipstream's we are raving is worser than this very very cheesey

  • The Guy sitting down doing the Vocals is Richard Easter.

  • @JonMcElectro ...who seems to wearing a 'We Want Rob Curling' sign on his top. (???)

  • @JasonC1782 Oops! Wasn't paying attention to that. Says Vocals by Richard Easter on the Single. That's why I thought it was him on stage.

  • @JonMcElectro Oh no, I wasn't saying it wasn't him, I was just wondering why he had that message on his top, that's all.

  • @JasonC1782 Beats me! Don't know who Rob Curling is.

  • @JonMcElectro At this time Rob Curling was the presenter of the BBC regional news programme 'Newsroom South East' - which came from the same studio complex as TOTP - and also hosted the quiz show 'Turnabout'.

  • @JasonC1782 Oh. So that's who it was. Used to watch Turnabout.

  • @deadstuartwakes Oh i'll second that!! I was there, in the thick of it, Rave ups one week, Northern Soul all nighters the next. Class!!!!

  • It would've been a great performance if that couch potato wasn't there. Classic!

  • fk me this is so bad it makes sesames treet sound passable

  • these sort of songs killed rave off. say what you like you know its true!

  • The piano in this is sampled from another rave song, anyone know it?

  • i remember watching this when i was ten years old, classic rave man, alright!!!!

  • Rosie - hope you dont mind but man your mum was hot! Seems surreal now to think shes a mum and your probably as old now as I was then! Never knew her but tell her thanks for the memories and hope she (and you) are both doing well - take care x

  • Great memories! Thanks for posting it - any more early 90's stuff?

  • Those were the fucking daze

  • thats just embarrasing

  • thx for uploading dude. i´m looking for more TOTP performances from the early 90´s.

  • This was kinda the death of rave (IMHO) but it's still a guilty pleasure of mine. Loved it back then, still love it now!

  • Liam Howlett said it too.

He wishes he never made Charly.

He had the idea, then acts like this produced this tosh.

  • that lady singing gotta make it better is ma mum!!!!!!

  • I'm begining to realise the 90's were quite good.

  • Lol this takes me right back to just being aloud into our local night club.

  • What a load of garbage. Would love to smack that idiot on the chair in the face.

  • I've aged a lot you wouldn't recognise me.

  • Shaft were resident at 'Madison's, a Kev club in Crewkerne, the Ewing trainer wearing clique took it over but the only quality nite i recall was when Mikey B and Eric Powell came down in May '92. Mikey B ran the show! Wicked

  • OMG FORGOT THIS ONE.. HA HA CLASSIC

  • hahahaha i love it

back in the day ........ brilliant

  • Wasn't this something to do with "posse" members off Steve Wright in the Afternoon?

  • That cheered me up!

  • thanks my mum embaressed me :S

  • oh matey i have searched long and hard for this i remembered it from the time it was on top of the pops absolute classic

  • i remember watchin this on top of the pops. i was 5 i thought it was mint

  • Its a cool video to see all the fashions etc. We had a show called "Countdown" like this show in Oz, but it wasn't dance music oriented like I believe Top Of The Pops seems to have been. Damn, we missed out again!! Great post:)

  • top of the pops wasn't dance oriented. it's just the UK charts have consisted of a lot of dance music at times, especially in the 90s

  • Please add James Brown is Still Alive to that list. What the heck was that about?

I remember hearing R&C out numerous times in its day but never since. Check my posting of a rather more cruisy and stylish remix of it.

  • LOL you mental lot... classic.

  • yes let's all agree wwe went through a very mysterious phase in 91/92- i include "sesame's Treet" "a trip to trumpton" "supermarioland" "charley" and this song as evidence. I remember thinking at the time that it was all quite quite rubbish!

  • OMG - I remember this like it was yesterday - even have this performance buried on VHS somewhere! Indeed this was the 2nd (Jan '92)of two performances they did on the show, the 1st being Dec '91 which was an even worse performance due to the girl trying to sing in falsetto...She had toned down her voice for this performance....At the time TOTP had a strict no miming policy which created havoc for the abundance of house/dance acts that were in the charts at the time.

  • Wow..Thats my Mum !!!! Go MUM !! ;-)

  • You will inherit those tights!

  • love your mum!

  • @RosieElliott .....do you want to introduce me to your mum then Rosie????

  • Dear God ...how did this get on here..I didn't look too bad 17 years ago..;-)

  • @djtamsin me too berrer now

  • @djtamsin which one are you?

  • @djtamsin lol u go mum lol

  • @djtamsin you looked bloody good let me tell you :)

  • AH, Bollocks! I blame top of the pops!

I like the beat though. Proper old skool!

  • Just think, without this we may never have had Global Communication and half the classic ambient music of the 90s...!...

  • Wow talk abut memories... As this started I had a flash back of some dick sat in an arm-chair and then he came on!! I saw this when it was aired. OMG. So sh!t it's great!

  • they look like their having alot of fun!

  • Oh the humanity. Lord have mercy!

  • lol, that's Mark Pritchard on the right.

  • This just tickled me!

  • This is worst thing I have ever seen. Who is the dick in the red shirt pumping the keyboard?

  • Janner bastards!!

  • Alright klinger you kent!

  • this brings back memories well done for uploading it

  • Ha Ha. This is shockingly shit. In fact, it`s so bad that it`s good. In fact I love it.
