From watching this video I get the impression that this must be a difficult plane to fly. I can't imagine what it must be like to set one down on an aircraft carrier in a pitching sea.
If you are willing to spend enough money, somebody will hand build you one. It's cheaper to return an old airframe to flight status, far cheaper. Theres only so many people with enough money and the desire to own a 70 year old design, single seat fighter aircraft.
