I need help. I just got this game. I made it to the first gym. My starter pokemon was Snivy. It's weak to fire. It knows Tackle, Vine Whip, Growth and Wrap. All are very weak moves. My other pokemon are a Patrat (that's weak to fire), a Lillipup (also weak to fire) and a Purrloin (looks strong, but you thought wrong. Besides, it's a female). How do you defeat the gym leaders?

They should've made Timburr and Blitzle available much earlier in the game. This gym would've been more fun that way. You only have the options betweem your starter, your freebie monkey, patrat, lillipup, and purrloin. Lame. Not too many options.

but the trick is to the top right of the city they give you the pokemon that covers your starters weakness (eg if you chose grass, they would give you a water type to cover the weakness) and the pokemon that they give you is one of the monkey trio, and they will be VERY useful for this battle.
