I'm 17 and a lot of things are happening around and sometimes i feel like i don't have the strength to carry on,to face life and i tend to keep God at a distance...this song has given me a lot of inspiration and has reminded me to always trust in God no matter how bad i think the situation may be.
I too thank God for Easter, when our Savior rose and for the Easter family whose song remind us of that wondrous reality. This song helps me further process the pain of almost 1/2 century of losses while renewing my heart to the hope found in the Risen Savior. Further, it lifts my heart homeward and upward for a few minutes to remind me of the eternal relevance inherent in our day to day walk and relationships.
This video was my first introduction to jeff And Sheri and I've loved them ever since. I even bought the soundtrack tape, and have sung it in our church a couple of times. I think that Sher's voice is equal to any female singer country or gospel.
LOVE THIS SONG!! THE PRECIOUS ROSE OF SHARON DEFEATED DEATH TO "BLOOM AGAIN"!! I MISS SINGING THIS SONG (AS WELL AS "SPEAK TO THE MOUNTAIN") IN CHURCH, HAVEN'T SANG IN ABT 13 1/2 YRS NOW!! THANK YOU HOOVER4000 FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO. THANK YOU JEFF & SHERI EASTER FOR SHARING YOUR TALENTS WITH THE WORLD!!
O I Love this song!! My daugther & I sang it together a couple of times & everyone that heard it said we sounded so good together (which I thought we had done a great job on it as well) but sadly though as with most kids, my daughter (now 26) is running FROM GOD & NOT TO HIM. She started this in her early teens even when we had sang together she had just started running then. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you Jeff & Sherri for sharing your talents with the world!
What a lady this is. Has a young baby and while taking care of the child, fight Cancer off
with ease (at least to me). A classy lady, who can sing anything from a Ballad to Bluegrass. At the same time her and her husband can make some beautiful music together. If you havfe seen them in person when they sing certain songs, they just look at each other with so much love in their hearts for Jesus and each other.
I think this is a great song. I love it and would like to download the single to my computer, however don't seem to be able to figure out how to get it to download.
Such A Great Song! My Nanny(Grandma) Passed Away after Loosing Her Battle With Cancer and Had This Song Played At Her Funeral! They are So Good. Such a Great Couple we can be Encouraged By! :)
I love to hear Jeff and Sherri sing. I have known them a long time. When they sing you can really feel the love of God on them. You go guys!!! Keep it up. Your friend, Connie
Brings back many memories this song ... of when my grandparents were sick and in the hospital ... and went on to be with the Lord back in 1994 & 95 ... Sheri and Jeff Easter were an inspiration to me and this song will always remain dear to me knowing that it helped me during my time of sorrow and loss ... God Bless ya both.
@kymbreleigh Kim let me have a minute, i wanna put some church in it here, okay? you cannot compare your gift to another's because that's where trouble starts. take the gift you have, be thankful, and use it to bless God.
I am so happy to have someone understand this song I wanted for a site I belong to....I heard this song when my husband was fighting Cancer... He loved it so much... I sang with the recording to him... He left me the legacy of his 27 Rose Bushes when he passed on.. THis song has so much meaning to me and I can't hear it without seeing my husband resting peacefully when this song was playing. It was played at his service. Thank you God for the Easters!
Sprout, what a story you have. Everytime I hear this song, it reminds me of loved ones I have lost, as well. Sheri would be honored to know that she has helped us out with the wonderful gift she has received from God.
Back in June I purchased a DVD of the Easter Family when I was visiting Dollywood. All of the Lewis Family, including Sherry and Jeff were on it. It was also amazing how young Sherry's mother and aunts were. Not sure when it was made but assume early to mid 80's.
This song touvhes me everytime I hear it. Sheri is my favourite gospelsinger, because you hear the love for our Lord through her voise. I love Jesus so much i can't tell in words, but when Sheri sings it is like she knows what I am feeling. Thank yoy Lord for such talented singer who knows to reach the wolrd and prenounce Your word. Sheri may and your family be blessed by the Lord.
The first time I saw her and Jeff was on Nashville Now and I heard this song I was hooked. As a matter a fact she was the real gospel singer I started listening to. i hope to see her in concert someday
Is there any song this beautiful lady sings that is not outstanding. She and Jeff harmonize just the best. Any song I dial-in always seems so blessed by the spirit and is put out there with an awsome feeling. I am a singer also and do know that when you yourself can feel a song, it will be felt by the audience. Luv you Sherri and Jeff (and also that pretty lady helping with the harmony). Please check mine at "The Singing Indian". God is good and his grace and love are sooo real.
this is the song my mom and her sisters had sung at my grandmothers funeral on October,14, 2008. She is truly missed by all of us so much. My mom misses her so very much and cries all the time and thinks about her. My brother used to go up to my grandmas house and spend the night and now he doesn't have anywhere to go anymore. There was not a dry eye in the church when we had the song played. SHE WAS THE BEST GRANDMA EVER!!!! Rest in peace Grandma, we will see you again someday. We love you alot
Such a beautiful song and singer. Melts my heart strings. Jeff and Sherri are at the top of my favorites. Please listen to my music at "The Singing Indian". Luv Ya.
I was born weighing only 1 lb. and 9 oz. and many times I almost died and my parents had my funeral planned, and this song was to be sung. This song holds a special place in my heart.
Last sunday I sang this song in church.A woman said Jesus Is The Rose Of Sharon and was reminded of that as I sang the words to this beautiful song.He will bloom in all eternity and we will be with Him.
Fantastic song..our lives can relate from the times of winter we go through when it doesn't seem anything beautiful is going on until summer comes around. May the son of Gods love stay near.
Yes hi I got the lyrics through google search just type in the title and I was amazed when the lyrics appeared on the screen. Hope this gets em..Peace
ok, does anyone know who the guy is they show behind Sher with a brownish horizontal strip vest. He is daydreaming to his left and then suddenly appears to be concentrating on the song?
The guy that everyone is asking about in the brown stripped vest is Scott Flower of Legacy 5 who used to be with The Catherdals. The guy singing with the mic in blue shirt is Michael English who used to be with gaither vocal band. I think he used to sing with gold city before that and that is where Jeff & Michael became friends. Michael actually has sung a lot of the back up vocals on Jeff & Sheri's early works. The guy playing the dobro is Jeff's brother Steve "rabbit" Easter.
Roses Will Bloom Again Verse 1 I planted a little rose bush, I tended it with care, It's buds began to blossom Their fragrance filled the air But when winter came it withered, The petals drooped and fell to the ground, My heart sank as it faded, But I'd forgotten who had made it. go to the next comment for the rest~
Lord please keep Sheri in your arms, love her and take really great care of her and that wonderful voice. She needs our prays she has breast cancer,, she just found out last week.
Man with long hair and mic is Michael English who used to be with gaither vocal band and has sung back up vocals on many of Jeff&Sheri's early works. I believe if I am remembering right, Michael is the one who brought Jeff & Sheri to the attention of Bill Gaither.
Does anyone know about what year this was filmed? I am guessing early 90s. Also does anyone know who the guy is singing with them in the group ( blue shirt, longer hair) . Jeff and Sher are great entertainers.
Thanks, I should have known, now another question, who is the guy in the audience with the horizontal strip vest that is distracted and watching something to his left
This was made in 1993 as Bill had asked Sheri when her baby was due at the end of the song which is shown on Gaither video "Landmark" & Sheri replied "4 more weeks" Bill had Gloria pray a prayer for Jeff & Sheri and the baby's arrival.
Morgan (their daughter) is 14 now and this was released before she was born (as you can see Sheri is VERY pregnant). The man with the long hair and blue shirt is Michael English
I first heard Sheri sing this on Nashville Now back in 1993. My mom passed away in 1994 and I cant tell you how much this song means to me to this very day. Sher sings it from her heart and she and Jeff live the way they sing, srom their hearts.
The first time i ever heard this song was when, my mom and i sang it in church when i was little. We sang it a few months after my grandma had past away. This song was my grandpas favorite song, i had only sang it once and before my grandpa died he asked me to sing that song to him one more time and i did. I never world really sing this song again, but my churchs music director asked my mom and i to sing this song again for the church like we did when i was little.
Verse 2 VERSE 2 Rose was his only sweetheart, A loving wife for forty years. Cherished every day they had, And held memories oh so dear He never dreamed he's bore love And go to live alone, But he lay his Rose to rest, Looked up to heaven and tried his best To believe that CHORUS
My late wife first turned me on to this song when she lost her mother back in April 1999.
I lost my wife in a car accident in April 2005. She was only 41 years old. The message in this song is what keeps me going on with my life today. God wrote the plan of your life even before you were born. He know when you life will end. But, He also promises that if you believe in Him you will be with your loved ones again. Rejoice
Wildal, your message warmed my heart. In 2002 I lost my youngest daughter, Then my little brother and my middle daughte. God's plan is something we will never quite understand except it's his will. Having faith in his promise has also kept me going. Thank you for your blessed words.
i first heard this song about 8 years ago.some of my christion brothers and sisters brought the CD back from ham parkers church in dellaware.the words are beautiful.i know if you trust in jesus you will see your loved ones again.he is the alfa and the omega.god bless you
As a general rule, I cannot stand Country-style music, but this song merits an exception. Sheri's voice is very husky and the twangy Country sound is unmistakable, yet the message transcends the medium! Very nice. This song is now one of my favorites. Thanks to the blessed Rose of Sharon for making that possible.
This song means so much to me. When I lost my grandfather I was so devastated. He was such a wonderful man. Then I found out a week later I was expecting my son.
I'm 17 and a lot of things are happening around and sometimes i feel like i don't have the strength to carry on,to face life and i tend to keep God at a distance...this song has given me a lot of inspiration and has reminded me to always trust in God no matter how bad i think the situation may be.

Roses Will Bloom Again
I planted a little rose bush and tended it with care.
It's buds began to blossom, their sweet fragrance
filled the air.
But when winter came it withered, the petals drooped and fell to the ground.
My heart sank as it faded but I'd forgotten who made it.
Roses will bloom again, just wait and see.
Don't mourn what might have been.
Only God knows how and when.
Roses will bloom again.
