Jesus, my friend! That´s because the original is a famous german song Oh, Tannenbaum. Most of the traditional songs like Oh,Holy Night; Silent Night, Ave Maria are european originals. You americans are like children sometimes, you think the World began in the year of1900. The same with Aretha´s inaugaration song for Obama, the original is England´s God Save the Queen. We live in times where we are being entertained and informed via glitz and quick-paced entertainment. Have people lost the ability to slow down and listen to the creativity of a singer with a song?
