  • that was the most soulful version of the song ive heard

  • This video is a favorite on South Sudan

  • Aretha I adore this song all the time and especially on occasion for Christmas. You keep dwelling in the Spirit forever.

  • thank you sweet lady god bless.

  • I hate Xmas songs, they're all so verlogen. Außerdem ist Aretha zu fett, die sah auch schonmal besser aus!

  • @beeblebronx ...."Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."

  • @beeblebronx its not Xmas its Christmas

  • She is the best!

  • Look for Yarelin García's Go Tell It On The Mountain COVER!! amazing!

  • voice of gold ......

  • Oh! How I love Jesus

  • Just Magnificantly!! and beautifully sung Aretha. Thanks for posting.

  • why she`s singing in german ? oh tannenbaum, wie grün sind deine blätter :D

  • Jesus, my friend! That´s because the original is a famous german song Oh, Tannenbaum. Most of the traditional songs like Oh,Holy Night; Silent Night, Ave Maria are european originals. You americans are like children sometimes, you think the World began in the year of1900. The same with Aretha´s inaugaration song for Obama, the original is England´s God Save the Queen. I love you folks anyway,,,but study history.

  • She is the best!

  • That's how we do it in the black church...(not trying to be like, oh yea we're the best)...but thats how we do it.

  • I am being white, just can't stop adoring you'all!!! Let's rock "n Roll ! I am not catholic, not even that religious, (you know buddhism is not a religion) but the way you praise your Lord, is outstanding!!!! amazing stuff!!!!

  • Our Lord can be 'your' Lord...if you enjoy the Black Church experience, the Black Church would be a good place to learn about God in Christ. Black worship is an experiencial (sp) worship that comes from Africa, Slavery, to Freedom...and daily life. Just give it a try and see what happens.

  • @MethodistPreacher

Oh how I wish I could find such an experience in my area!

  • . Did you know music started out with the first syllables of certain songs extending up to 10 minutes? Just the first few syllables! We live in times where we are being entertained and informed via glitz and quick-paced entertainment. Have people lost the ability to slow down and listen to the creativity of a singer with a song? Shame on you for hating on something because it's of a different tune. I found new magic in this song when Aretha sang it.

  • @ZebFAN00 I completely agree with you Zeb she gave this song a whole new feel..

  • Carola Sing this song too:-))

  • Beautiful.

  • To our queen, I hope you read this comment. You are a preacher. God did this for you. Minister Franklin, your baby son also has a calling on his life to pastor a church.

  • No one can hold a candle to her!!! Queen of soul!!!!

  • Sing your song, QUEEN!

  • One thing for sure there is no other like Aretha with her beautiful voice. She definitely has a wonderful gifted talent.

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!

  • On the studio recording of this song, she sang everything in English.

  • goosebumps!!!

  • Great mixes!!! Excellent songs!

  • The mix sucks on this. She's undermiked (as usual) on Go Tell It and the German song is not meant for her.

  • What r u talkin about? She worked this song. She put her own style into it. Can you play piano & sing too? It's not everyone's feat!!

    Think again!!

  • reply is above.

  • I can play piono and sing because i am in this choir that you have to try out for and everything!

  • I like her intro to go tell it but not the sound mix once the choir came in. I've seen her perform O Christmas Tree in person and it's a boring song and even Ree can't seem to put a fire under it.

  • Oh i got u now. u right. I kinda noticed that too. my baddd!

  • Hey, I am all ready for an Aretha Christmas Spiritual cd (like the songs on Odettas)! Have you seen the Billy/Aretha duets on O Holy Night and Auld Lang Syne?

  • she has a christmas album coming out October 14, "This Christmas"

  • The arrangement of this song mix well with her vocal ability. The intrsuments plays off well with her singing.

  • I'm sooo glad God gave us Jesus & Aretha Franklin! Thank you Lord!

  • I love aretha franklin she is awesome!

  • need we ever say more.. amazing!

  • This is how you know she's the queen. She sung half of O Christmas Tree in german and it still had the Aretha Franklin soul sound, amazing.

  • I agree and so does nessa dorma.

  • Beautiful.

  • my teacher played percussion with her, he said it was awesome and that she is an incredible musician to perform with and that her piano playing is amazing

  • Where's she? I need to hear her sing live soon!!!

  • This is why I love Bill Clinton: he's as giddy as a school girl while he's watching Aretha perform. The man had soul!

  • Sang It MAMMA

  • This is awesome. And she is playing that piano... I love Aretha!

  • her middle name must be piano, how else can one explain that magnificent playing of that instrument!

  • I LOVE HER

  • Beautiful performance

  • She is simply amazing.

  • This makes me want to put up my christmas tree in August. Aretha's voice is not only a national treasure she is too!!!!! does'nt she look spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!

    onelove

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • President Clinton had a very deep appreciation for Aretha Franklin's artistry and on numerous occasions she was invited to entertain the President and his family and friends. Never did Aretha fail to perform grandly!!!

  • EXCELLENT!!!!

  • I would enjoy myself too if Aretha Franklin The Queen of Soul was singing for me too!

  • I was lucky enough to be part of the choir in the background. (National Cathedral Choir of Men & Boys)

This was a magical night for all of us and we dubbed Aretha, "Regina Anima" (latin for queen of soul)

  • President Clinton was truly enjoying himself.

Aretha reminds me of Mahalia Jackson.
