FireRed lets you catch something else (Elekid I think?)

LeafGreen is needed to be able to find wild Magby. Without LeafGreen in your GBA slot, you can't find any wild Magby.

@cconnorr5 I put my camera on my table, so it wouldn't move and there isn't really a way to make the camera see clear. You can make a camera have good quality by adjusting the focus and just having a good camera.

@slipknot0209 You could try it with a friend or look on the GTS for a Magmortar. If you have Pokémon Battle Revolution, you can one from there as well.

But if you wanted to actually evolve it, this is the only way. Sorry :(

I'm confused, do I need 2 Pokemon Pearl games to trade it to the another game? Or do I just take the Leaf Green and put it in the other DS and trade it to the Leaf Green game and then trade back to pearl? And do you need WiFi? :D

@andi01106 No. You don't even need one, but it's better to have one because Wild Magby in Pearl have a higher chance of holding the Magamrizer than in Diamond. You need Leafgreen version in your GBA slot to make wild Magby appear. If it isnt in your GBA slot, you CAN'T find Magbys at all. Catch a Magby in Diamond or Pearl. There's a 50% chance in Pearl that Magby holds the item. There's only a 5% chance in Diamond. Trade Magmar holding this to another DS. It will evolve. No you don't need Wifi.

@andi01106 Every has to start somewhere :)

You can get Pokémon from your Leafgreen, Emerald, Firered, Ruby and Sapphire by using the Pal Park. This lets you choose 6 Pokémon from your Lg/FR/R/S/E and put them to your Pearl/Pt/Diamond. You can't put these back and this is not trading. You need to trade Magamr to another Pearl, Diamond, Platinum, Heartgold or Soulsilver. It will then evolve when it holds the item. :) You use the pal Park to get Pokémon from GBA games, but it isn't trading :)

It will evolve when you give it a Magamarizer (held item) and trade it, which is explained in the video :)

Says in the vid - You need a DS Lite, Nintendo DS. This makes wild Magby SOMETIMES hold the item. If you're using Pearl version, there's a higher chance of a wild Magby holding a Magmarizer. Go to Route 227 or outside Stark Mountain and search (just run around) in the grass. If you see a Magby, catch it because it might hold a Magmarizer. You can tell if it is if your first Pokémon in your party has the ability Frisk. Give that to Magby and trade =D

You are mistaking Hyper Fang with Super Fang. Hyper Fang ALWAYS cuts the enemies current HP in half. Even a level 1 against a level 100.

Hyper Fang will KO a Magby but Super Fang does half the current HP. Example - My Ho-oh has 100 HP, when a Pokémon uses Super Fang it makes my hHP 50, when it does it again, it goes to 25.

I think that another good way to catch magby would to get a pokemon like Sceptile, or Gallade, and use False Swipe on it to bring its Hp down to 1 and then it would be really easy to catch, thats how i caught him so easy. =P

No no, not at all. But if you wanted to do competetive battling with a Magmortar, then you'd want to be IV breeding and nature breeding. But this doesn't affect the evolution in anyway so you can evolve your Magmar as long as it has the Magmarizer and you have acces to a trade.

You don't HAVE to get Magby in Leafgreen. You need to catch Magby from Pearl because it's holding a Magmarizer. YOu can't find Wild Magby without the Leafgreen inserted into your DS, this obviously means I can't do this because I have a DSi.
