  • Once again I think "America" is one of if not the most or maybe even the only country where people are obsessed with "perfection" basically this country sucks for everything other than making money. Can't wait to get outta here.

  • @BitchesCallMeTFree real beauty = megan fox ONLY...u listenin ugly bitches....go die

  • God forbid if celebrities gain weight or go out without make up on, they get bashed in magazines. Than as soon as they are under weight they get bashed too. Women cant win. It`s a sad world we live in.

  • Young boys and men are also being shown by the media and society that looks of girls and women matter more than their personality. That is why men are considered so shallow. I blame the media and society.

Be active. Be healthy. Be unique. Don't try to change to look like the people in the media. Don't change to impress or keep someone beside you. I lost 50 pounds and I still think that I have many, many flaws. But, I have learned to love my body for what it is.

  • I'm bawling like a little baby. This is unbelievably beautiful. Thank you. Incredible.

  • this documentary was very good! :D

  • Great job guys. Very professional video!

  • Just for the record, every person in this video was beautiful.

  • why did this make me teary?

  • @OleanderLemon real beauty = megan fox ONLY...u listenin ugly bitches....go die

  • good job!!

  • The bitches in the magazines are usually uglier without makeup. No scientific equations and research needed to know that. But the Celebrities, they want people to like them so they paint their faces like clowns to make a fake image of perfection. Its unachievable because its fake. Duhhhhhh. Your born the way good wanted you to be born.

  • The irony of this video is I find about 90% of the women in this video unattractive, that doesn't make them ugly, just not to my taste...that's just me

  • Oh, thr title for the clip you chose is not the "accurate" term for America since not "all" Americans are teenagers.

  • If ur smart, u would be selective to what u consume on a daily basis. As a rule of thumb, teenagers are really just teenagers. What i don't see if why even ask such shallow questions to a demographic that doesn't have enough life experience to comprehend how the media works? Whoever made tyis clip, nice try on trying to obtain a "general" view, but overall, it's very bias because livingnin a developed country, you have choices.

  • @ThatGmoney I don't think "smart" aka intelligence is the factor here and living in a developed country is only relevant because of the available sample. They're high school students, they can't interview people in the Congo. What's important and valid to debate is that teenagers are developing adults and if they develop problems in their adolescent years, they won't suddenly go away because they're adults. This video is telling the story from a teenage perspective and that's valid.

  • This is amazing it made me cry!!

  • ok so everyone let yourself go ... sor but some ppl r attractive some not.... is a fit beauty or curvy beauty not real also? Work with what u have...not everyone is obsessed...

  • I understand that we should not expect all girls to be a size 2 and have flawless skin but the bottom line is that is what sells. I wish it wasn't like that but unfortunately "pretty" people are more pleasant to look at than an average person. And for the record it's not wrong to be a size 2. I am definitely on the skinny side and I feel like I'm being judged for it. Being a size 12 and overweight is not okay just as it is not okay for someone to starve themselves to be a size 0.

  • @MichaelaLeach Go fuck yourself. A size 12 is perfectly fine. As long as a person is happy and healthy - (because YES, believe it or not, you can be a size 12 and be in even better health than a size 5) - then it really doesn't matter, now does it? It's perfectly OKAY to be who you are, no matter what the size. You are no being judged for being skinny, hunny. Just for being ignorant.

  • I love the little boy at the end :)

  • GREAT VIDEO! :)

  • muther fucker in the white jacket was pissin me off.

  • DO U NT WEAR MAKEUP ?!?!? ND DO U NOT MOISTURISE

  • DO NOT FUCKING SLAG OFF NEXT TOP MODEL ! >:¬!

  • wow, this was awesome!!!

  • lol... you don't create a line to make women feel beautiful, you create a line for profit.

    Bullshit, mary kay consultant

  • This is an amazing video and a great message. I wish society could see true beauty in everyone, but they won't. It's sad but true. You better have gotten an A+++++ for this.

  • Amazing video great message =)

  • This documentary just brought me to tears. Great job, great message. I'm sure sharing this on YouTube has helped some girls whom were seeking comfort about their self-image, feel much better. This is very inspiring. Kudos.

  • I had a crush on the prettiest girl of my high school.

When I learned she was an uninteresting, self-centered bitch with a personality of a raw potato, she started looking ugly in my eyes.

  • Media is feeding us with a constant stream of lies.

Western culture is fucked up beoynd repair.

  • @villeppi why blame or accuse western culture ? perceptions of beauty is just as messed up in eastern society - eg bollywood is for gori's only !!

  • i want to know what the models we see in the media think of the perception of beauty. i mean would they be able to relate to other girls about it , would they feel wrong that people change themselves to look like them. not that they are not beautifukl themselves. do they care or don't they care? interesting i think :)

  • i do not want my child to grow up in this society..seriously tyhis is bullshit that affects everyone and i never want anyone my love to feel this stupid extreame pressure..disgusting

  • your voice at the beginning sounds like the start to a porn film ;)

  • this opened my eyes to how i feel about the word "beautiful" i look at it so differently now because of you guys. thank you for opening my eyes to what i should have seen long before. THANKS YOU :D

  • dat 6uRl at 3:16 iz b@dd y0!

  • My favorite is Ellen's "Cover Girl" commercial.

"Inner beauty is important, but not nearly as important as outer beauty."

    Way to go.

  • To be honest girls,

Us men don't care if ur beautiful or not. Just as long as you aren't a fucking trainwreck, and I mean like seriously ugliest person u can imagine. Remember sloth from the goonies? Yeah, him. We really don't care how beautiful you look. Ads are taking advantage of you wanting to look "beautiful" nnot saying that men expect it. And one more thing, the guys they interviewed were douchebags. I'm just saying.

  • What the hell? Why shouldnt people want to look more attractive? By no stretch is it a negative quality to seek to improve yourself. Don't cover the flaws, go out and exercise and eat well, you'll look as good as you ever will without all the gimmicks

  • @NimCMS yeah, but the point here was, that the media proclaims only one type of beauty that triggers people tyo feel insecure about themselves because they don't fit that criteria. yes. it is beautiful, but so are a million and one other types of beauties. even if you make yourself as health as you can, the trith is most people won't fit this image so (even though they are all beautiful).

  • 2:51 hahahah

  • Anyone else find it ironic that only attractive people were chosen to be interviewed?

  • @theslimeylimey I definitely don't think that everybody interviewed was the typical society-defined definition of beauty or attractiveness. However, I think everybody looked beautiful in their own special way. I usually try to find the beauty in everyone, and I'm glad this video is out there to help other people do the same.

  • i hate when people use the word ugly, no one is ugly

  • I absolutely hate make-up. I only care for people who are themselves. I do not judge however, you can do what you want with your life but I only want those who are defiantly themselves.

  • Complete Spectrum Propaganda

  • you think America is obsessed? Try Korea! Serious cosmetic surgery

  • Life is plastic.

  • This is an amazing documentary.

I can honestly say that I love myself. I don't wear makeup, I embrace my flaws. Looks don't matter to me. And I've never been prouder.

  • This was amazingggg.

  • the moral of the story is: you're not ugly. society is.

    i fucking hate people.

  • @XxSisterWolfxX its so true. i cryed at this video :(

  • this made me cry (:

  • You all did a fantastic job. I really hope you all got an A on this project, because just, wow. Bravo.

  • everyone can look good and be attractive if they work at it. just do it. ;)

  • That was beautiful, amazing and most of all inspiring.Good job! :D

  • that was truly amazing :)

  • This is a very good documentary. I just want to point out that it is a world-wide obsession. It's not just America.

That little boy at the end was beautiful.

  • We have a beauty desire problem but also a weight problem. Ironic

  • Some people are really hard to hear... But I like the message of this documentary! Very good work!

  • thanks for this (:

  • Fascinating job, thanks for sharing.

I'd like to add that from where I come from is all about this sick beauty and not only for girls, boys too. Is all about who you are in the outside, if your not "pretty" or "slutty" you are no good in this society. btw it's Puerto Rico...

  • Thank you so much for doing this.

  • this is awesome! Thanks for sharing True beauty !!

  • This is beautiful. You are amazing for doing this.
