if it says it shoots FULL HD, it will be progressive (1080p). Hope that helped! Merry Christmas to you as well.

The camcorder can do both in 1080i (which is then the normal mode) and 1080p (which is what is known as Cinema mode)
I have the camcorder but also recommending recorded in 1080i because the picture but it was sharper than in the progressive mode.
also is yes, then subsequently converted before the processing on the PC the video in progressive ;-)
