My buddy, Reid Miller and I, were writing and performing comedy for the Bob and Tom morning radio show when the Valdez hit the rocks in Alaska. We wrote, produced and recorded the song the day after the disaster. Two days after that it was satellite-fed around the world (most notably Melbourne, Australia), so I guess you could say this was our first big hit.
