  • I agree, its strange, but we are seeing mountain pine beetles become more generalist and attack spruce trees, as well. It is unclear if MPB can actually reproduce in spruce, but they can bore in and harm trees, if they can't find any other susceptible trees.

  • spruce trees do not get mountain pine beetle. thats most likely a spruce bark beetle.
