This is the perfect power pop song:beautiful melody over such a cool chord progression; super-deluxe vocals (lead and background); awesome arrangement; excellent lyrics--a mini masterpiece!
Awkward title but brilliant song. The decending harmonies are one of the best moments in 40 years of pop/rock. They burned very brightly - but far too short! Andy Sturmer, Roger Manning Jr and Jason F. and your other great guitarists please get back together even just for a few months!
@SydTheRatCatcher I know right? x.x This album came out when the whole grunge craze was in full force. I think they just got overlooked. This album has never lost it's lustre. It's withstood the times. I can listen to it from beginning to end anytime. Such a shame they didn't get the limelight they so obviously deserved. Definitely one of my favourite albums of all time.

Some of the lyrics come from the first few pages of Dylan Thomas's great unfinished novel Adventures In The Skin Trade.

This band worked hard on their music, and they are too good to be forgotton.

Just add my 2 cents: They were amazing. Was lucky enough to have seen them live once. All these useless reunions going on... please...

Reminds me of my dad, who would play this song over and over on his guitar. I miss him.
