Hi, please help me, I have a master cylinder which working but spongy and doesn't lock the brakes, I repaired it with a repair kit but now there's no pressue, not even a little, what could've I done wrong? seems like the pressure is wasted inside the cylinder, there are no leaks on the outside. What should I chech on? My car is a nissan 350z 04'.
does your 350 have ABS or an ABS accumulator? and did you bleed your brake system when u repaired it? the accumulator is a pressurized tank to compensate for shock load and brakes for locking up if it is torn internal it could cause the brake system to no create much pressure. Usually spongy means air in the system.
@yourMomasTube hi, 1st of all it sounds like you have air in the brake lines and the system must be bled or purged of all air.Start at the wheel farthest away from the master cylinder and work way towards the master cylinder.start at right rear, left rear,front right then left front.If your vehicle is ABS equipped the brakes will not lock up that's what the ABS was designed to prevent.I hope this info will help..Good Luck..
