I love my Pike. Its the same one you have. Some say its porky for its travel. Sure it maybe somewhat true with the advances of technology in the newer forks but it weighs like 4,5 pound which is respectable. Will a Maxle Lite work? Its super plush and stiff for my fat ass. A+ Rock Shox

Nice. I have an inbred with a revelation. Travel and handling is perfect but I can feel a bit of flex when I'm cornering hard. I guess that's not a problem with the thru-axle.

On smooth terrain, the less travel mean less energy is wasted in the forks through damping, therefore you go faster.

However on more rugged terrain, the extra travel provides a smoother ride, therefore allowing you to go faster.

Most forks will dive when you break hard, it is very difficult to combat this, pedal bob is different, but it is unusual to find pedal bob on bikes without rear suspension

what's ur setup and weight? I'm trying to get my setup working like that since May '07... 90+/55- and about 50% compression was the best I tested till now (for a 165lbs rider).

i ride it with the stock settings, and always with full travel (140mm). i've just increased the air pressure a little bit, as described in the manual. my weight is around 160lbs.
