There is a connection between the movie and the real theory. Chaos theory supports that everything is a matter of chance and there is no way to predict something. That guy wanted his life to be programed perfectly (means that he thought that he can predict the day perfectly). But one day he found out that everything can be unpredictable. The trailer kind of makes the movie out to be a bit more funny and light hearted than it really is. While it is really funny in some places the extenuating circumstances to RR's big meltdown are somewhat tragic.
