Great recipe. Thank you for sharing. My family is from both Spain and Portugal, so I thought it was cool how you incorporated linguica into this paella. Merry Christmas.
this rice recipe looks good, but please DONT CALL THIS A PAELLA. Thats a rice recipe because Paella its not made with capers, chorizo, or onions and cooked in the oven. Next time u can also make paella with Basmati rice and curry or chilpowder as well if u wish. lol
Besides that, i really love watching your videos but for any Spaniard thats an attack to our culinary.
@xemmm18 Thank you for coming by and watching. I have no intention of attacking any cuisine. As I have said in many of my videos, we all have our styles of cooking different things. Have a great week! I will continue calling this a paella. Thanks!
That looks absolutely delicious. I'll have to try it some time. Thanks for posting it. And may I add, your presentation and the way you went through it step by step was brilliant. Keep up the good work :-)
etant de parents valenciens je le dit bien fort ceci n est pas une paella mixta m est plutot un attentat teroriste culinaire monsieur ou madame votre recette est bidon restez plutot a un plat international le sandwhis bon appetit super chef tony
@samourai379 Thank you very much for coming by Super Chef Tony. I was not made aware of the fact that your Valencian parents had written the Paella Mixta Bible. My apologies for terrorizing your recipe. Perhaps next time you can leave your messages in English rather than hide behind your French. Au revoir,
@ItsKnucklez Me encanta lo cerrados que son algunos de Uds. No todo tiene que hacerse en la misma manera. Me alegra mucho saber que mi trabajo te cause tanta risa. I cook my paella like this and it is wonderful and delicious.
Ha,ha do you call it Paella? That's funny. It's not a Paella at all, but looks nice any way. Try it without chorizo, and without onions. Put the rice over the meat, don't take it away. Use a proper "paella" (a flat pan), you need squid, cuttlefish, artichokes, green beans, peas and not so much pepper. And lemon, lots of lemon. Thanks
@xcortinas There's hundreds of ways to make a Paella...she never claimed this was a traditional Valencian Paella. In principle, this is a paella even if the ingredients are different from the traditional ones. It's harmful to be so stubborn that you can't stray away a bit from tradition.
This recipe looks delicious and I'll definitely be trying this on a special occasion!
@Radjehuty Well, thats not right. There are a hundred ways to make the rice, and one is "the paella". I say that it looks good, and I never insult any body. And I give my advice to make a real paella. I'm sorry very much if this is harmful for you, but I'm not stubborn, and this is not paella, and there is nothing I can do to about it.
@Radjehuty How can you even discuss an spaniard about paella being american? Stick to cheese burgers and mcdonald's and let us cook the good food. Paella is cooked HOW WE SAY, that's why is spanish. If you cook rice however you want is not paella.
@Radjehuty You will know that the rice is ready when it turns translucent and has a small white dot in the middle - this is if you are using Arborio rice. If you are using regular rice let it brown lightly but be very careful not to burn it. Thank you so much for coming by! I hope this comes out wonderful for you!
hi maryann i always enjoy waching ur vidios very helpful i like the receip plz tell me where u bye that big saffren?i need to bye it bcoz i cook a lot too
@havenllygood08 Hi there! I got that saffron from my brother who is a chef in Las Vegas. He gave it to me. He bought it from a restaurant supplier. Have you tried looking online? Thanks very much for coming by!
Ohh, I was wondering, ma'am! --> Do you need to use short grain, and if so, can I use non-spanish or non-arborio rice? All we have in our pantry is jasmine long grain and puerto rican medium grain...
@bakingchin These long grain rices will not absorb the liquid like the Arborio. However, that does not mean you can not use the rice you have. It will affect the texture but the flavor will still be great! Thanks for coming by!
Please don´t call paella this kind of recipe, I don´t have any doubt that this recipe was very tasteful, but Paella (sorry for this comment but I´m from Valencia,Spain, and this "hurt" me very much) Is a Rice Recipe that is cooked in a flat Pan(a Paella pan or any flat Pan) and that the rice is not higher than 2 inches) and that is completely dry(that´s a difficult thing to do:a lot of control with the boiling point playing with the fire). Thanks
@fcocapor Thank you for coming by. No need to be "hurt". Thankfully, the world is full of different ways of making meals. I am also of Spanish origin and this is how we make our paella. Quiza tu nos pudieses mostrar como haces la tuya? Que tengas un buen dia!
@claudia8890 I make mine and freeze it. I have a video on how to do so. Otherwise it is commonly sold at the grocery store, in the soup aisle. Thank for coming by!
Omg I love your style! This looks so yummy .. You have the best paella recipe video on YouTube !!! You're also such a natural( great teacher ). Kudos!!!
Wow, sounds great! I looked forward to the veggie Paella! I am working on game hens today, I have 6 hens I am going to brine and BBQ smoke for about 4 hours. I am thinking of stuffing them with Garlic Fried Rice.
Hey Jimbo! Thanks for watching! I am still trying to think of a NW version to one of my recipes. I think you gave me the answer! I will make a NW vegetarian paella! At any rate, have a wonderful day!

I do have one question though, when you saute the rice, how do you know when it's done? I'm worried I might overcook it or just not cook it enough...
Thanks again this is awesome!

Wrong, wrong, wrong. You cook everything in the same pan and build on top of the previous ingredients to let all of the flavors penetrate the rice.

The best way of making a Paella Mixta is just don't try to make it.
This Anomalous paella was an invention for tourists in some regions of Spain. Curiously not in Valencia, where the original paella comes from.
