I never used the stuff. Is it a fake etch or does it really etch? How dangerous is it?

It's a real etching on the glass.

It's harmful if swallowed (acid) and I wouldn't want to leave it on my skin for a very long time (even though I got some on my skin and it didn't hurt me).

I guess that's why they have 18 and over on the bottle.

That 'danger level' was the main reason why I never tried it. I think I will give it a go if I come across it.
