  • when we were kids that course was not there, from porky face we would look over there and only dream of what is now the best down hill course in north america. I was shitting i mean sitting on my couch in sacramento when they showed the course in olympic comptetion.

  • I did that entire route (there's no course set up now) on 12/25/2010 at 10:00 am. 1:30, lol, I did that from the women's start (men's start was destroyed with moguls) in about 3 minutes on my board and I almost shit my pants. Too many people stop before the Grizzly DH, it's very dangerous to go full speed there. Plus, it gets all chopped up after 12pm. That's a super fast course.

  • i would not be able to talk through the race like that AND concentrate on skiing. incredible.

  • it looks really easy...

  • Thank you for this, I'm having a hard time finding skier point of view video, but this is great! I love the commentary with it.

  • crazy shit!!!! funny guy(at the end)

  • Holy Crap! I'm exhausted just watching from that POV! Wow!

  • That is one fantastic video,-thanks for doing that to give those of us with a dreadful fear of heights a small taste of what it's like...Great fun!!!!

  • No video I've seen so far, depicts EXACTLY how steep that starting sequence is.

From working on it, to skiing on it, its so hard to believe these guys shoot out straight down.. I love Snowbasin. But before it was $65 per ticket!

  • I'm breathless

  • OHHHHHH YEEEEEEAH!!!!!!!

  • super cool. I hope NBC does something like this again, except in HD and a little higher angle

  • there's just no way to show how steep it is on these pov's

  • Haha awesome Doug excited for eliteam this summer

  • awesome vid! I snowboard, but for me the men's downhill is the best event in the olympics, hands down.

Does anyone remember the downhill course in where they had that "tower turn", 180 hairpin loop? I beleive it was the games in Norway or Serejevo.

  • Awesome indeed! Five stars for a unique and exciting video. I wish there were more of these on Youtube.

  • i no him. Thats so cool

  • love it Lewy....makes me sad that i missed the speed camp this year. see you at the Bush sometime soon buddy.

  • Best video on youtube, amazing footage. no chance of doing one at Kitzbuhel is there ?

  • Oh god yes. The waist gadget + the Streif would be too awesome. Good luck trying to fit any commentary in though.

I like the setup. I mean, besides building the camera directly into the brim of the helmet, how can you attack a run when you trade in your poles for a tv cam?

  • Nice one douggie!

  • insane...awesome footage...how was the camera attached?

  • Camera was attached one foot boom that was attached to a weight belt that was cinched up really tight. The boom stuck up and out so it was behind my head with a wide angle. Mic was ducktaped to my mouth with a big furry sindscreen on it. Wicked fun. I did it twice.

  • @sibbo10 Brilliant perspective....watched it 5 times. Man that's as close as I'll get to the downhill..ever!! Big kahoona's Dougie..you're the man!!. Gary.

  • Awesome. I can't imagine dropping 2,900+ vertical feet in 2 minutes, wow. I've ridden the course and it's a lot steeper in person and to straight line it just doesn't make sense to me.

  • holly scary
