  • My favourite version of Hey Baby was from the Isle of Fehmarn show of Sept. 6, 1970 but this one is great too.

  • @eddieondrums who cares about your shitty band.

  • Hendrix superiority

  • feedback, like that at 6:55, is so out of this dimension, wow, i cant stop listening to it

  • Thank you for this. Curious if you have anything from the LA Forum? I used to have a tape of it from the old 4 cassette "lifelines" but since have lost it. That was an amazing set. Anyway.... Thank you again for this piece!

  • This man truly treated his instrument like a woman. He listens to it sing - for him.

  • @dignizm and makes sweet love to it

  • K.B. Hallen is my favorite

  • I was there!

  • Its weird.. This is the last song my cars CD played before suddently just dying out.

  • Jimi never played carbon copies of his songs night after night. You can listen to 10 different performances of Hey Baby and you'll have 10 unique experiences.

There isn't a guitarist alive that can come close to creating music like this. If you think Gilbert, Vai etc can.... you just don't get it...

  • Yes, Jimi at his best, super performance!

This is Stockholm 31/8-1970, the day after Isle of Wight.

Anyway, the picture is from next day, Gothenburg, Liseberg 1/9-1970.

  • Nevermind I havent found a version that I can honestly call the best. SO beautiful

  • I really like the slower tempo of this version

  • He's quoting Peter Green's instrumental "Albatross" at the beginning.

  • jimmy always jams at the beginning of this song hes sooo fucking creative

  • Not my favorite version of Hey Baby (the night before is: Isle Of Wight, 8/30/70) but none-the-less cool to hear again - Thanx! Cool pic too!

    8/31/70: Grona Land, Stockholm, Sweden.

SET LIST: Lover Man, Catfish Blues/Keep On Groovin/Race With The Devil (short inst. jam), Ezy Rider, Red House, Come On, Room Full of Mirrors, Hey Baby, Message to Love, Machine Gun, Voodoo Chile, In From The Storm, Purple Haze, Foxy Lady.

Btw: Mitch's daughter is born on this day!

  • hi,

i agree the isle of Wight version is magnificent..In the set list you write: Catfish Blues/Keep On Groovin/Race With The Devil (short inst. jam), i would say it s rather a short deconstructed version of Midnight lightning!!too bad there are no other examples of this piece...

  • By the way i don t have the track4 : red house!

  • SO, he went from England to Sweden in one day AND played a show? Damn, bet he was ready to leave and sleep.

  • @parigod Yes, no wonder he was tired of touring. Plus the Isle of Wight show almost ended at dawn...
