1) There is NO evidence that Jesus (assuming he even existed) was born on December 25th. That date was set by Pope Julius in the 4th century.

2) Celebrations near the winter solstice have been around LONG before Christianity.

3) Nobody's stopping you from making your own "Merry Christmas" video to send to other Christians.

In the mean time, the rest of us have no problem celebrating Dec 25th for the secular holiday it's become.

The holiday of Christmas was created by the Catholic Church, as is evident by the suffix "mas." Several other saints also have their own "mass," so to speak. Americans say Happy Holidays when talking to the public because America is full of different religions and beliefs and they all have their own holidays. Nobody's stopping Christians from saying Merry Christmas to each other.

Anyways, Christmas was never about Jesus to begin with. It was an attempt by the early church to convert the filthy pagans by re-branding the winter solstice. They took the tree worship and gift-giving, and made it about Jesus.
