My only recommendation would be that you go with actors (stand-ins really) who have the same body-shape or size as the people they are portraying. Maybe they could even where green face-paint and swimming caps, to make CGI heads/faces a bit easier to add in... although obviously it would be nice to have the CG be animated by the actors movements, that might be getting a bit expensive/Hollywood!

Here are some first experimental tests for reconstructing some live footage into episode one. I'm on the lookout for a tail coat , as this is what he used to wear. I only had this old jacket at the back of my wardrobe I'm afraid. Lol!
However it gives a first idea of what can be achieved.
