He looks brave and seems to have great reflexes! two important things for a goalkeeper. He's young to! Once again, we don't have to doubt O'Neills skills in the transfer marked, because Guzan looks like quality.
yea Aston seems like a nice place for him. although i hear that friedel is going too. wonder how that little dilemma is going to work out. interesting. interesting and maybe just a bit scary lol.
Yep, I imagine Friedel will get the majority of games this season, with Guzan learning from his experience, then soon the student will become the master
At last we have a keeper with talent and the potential to improve very quickly playing in the best league in the world. Number 1 for this season, Taylor Number 2, may be another keeper to come?

if villa gets robinson, aint no way guzan is gonna beat him out for the starting spot. they're both great, but robinson has so much experience at the EPL level
yeh but guzan is only 23 so has got ages left in his goalkeepin career, luk at van der sar or friedel, theyre both 37 and still very close to the top of their game, robinson is like 29 so will help guzan to become a gr8 player
Creds to the States for producing such greatly talented goalkeepers. Howard, Friedel, Keller and Hahnemann.. And now Guzan. Good job. Hope Guzan joins Villa!:D
Guzan wont go to Scotland i mean face he wants to be somewhere in his life so dat will be da wrong step so iff u wna prove urself cum to da prem da best league in da world nd no1 can disagree wit dat. thank u very much lol
Lets face it, if Celtic hadn't had him on trial MON would have never even have heard of him - he is truly awful in the transfer window, he either overpays or has a nasty habit of buying players he has worked with in the past.
to be honest...the american legue is about as good as the championship. but a good shot stopper is a good shot stopper anywhere and america has produced some good keepers (keller, howard, freidel, haneman who all play in the premiership!) this guy signed for villa, but has his work permit turned down, they are going back for him in summer.
idk much of usa natioanl soccer team, but they play some what like european socer, they have players who play over there so they bring back that style, play strong.
that's how we Asians got better at the global arena due to exposure to foreign imports. Strong Asian teams like S. Korea, Iran, Iraq, and Japan in last 5 years hired successful European managers and trainers to introduce the players to the rigors and method of European football. Look at the tempo and the style of games played by the Asian teams (watch AFC championship), it changed so much in last 10 years. Same lesson needs to be applies to MLS and North American football for their own sake.
First, the European has a low percentage of the American Football type. The culture physique is small in stature. You try to play football in Europe, Africa and Asia however, you have never full succeeded. Football in America brings many from the other continents for pleasure.
I already explained why the word Soccer is used, so please re-read and do
some research as to why some nations call Football "Soccer." Case in point, Ireland, USA, Australia, and other nations call it "Soccer" to differentiate it from other sports played in those countries, and
Football has been called Soccer for over a hundred years as well. Guzan is a good keeper. USA's football already benefits from good trainers and players from South America and Africa. Thanks!
Damn, calm down. The point is, Guzan kept the ball out of the net in 13 games, and in a year he'll be yet another American keeper in the EPL. Apparently, the fact that we refer to clean sheets as shut-outs hasn't prevented Howard, Hahnemann, and Friedel from doing well in the greatest league in the world.
I think it's funny when they get on the USA for terms when we're one of like three countries that call it soccer. Canada and Aussie do it too, but yet, they come after us. Threatened is what I think they are...
Wrong, in America we use the term "shutout" when a team does not score. The Yankees were shutout 8-0 by the Red Sox. the Jets were shutout by the Ravens 10-0. Thats how we speak, get over it and get used to it. Oh yea we will always call it soccer as well,so get over that to.
mtr4 is correct. I am from the united states and for other sports such as baseball americans use the term shut out but for soccer it is called a clean sheet when a keeper is not scored on. mtr4 is right.
Well I hope that u will learn, everybody speaks football (In case that you dont know what it means; I played with Portugeses, Brasilian, Italian, Scot, Irelander, American, and Icelander, but some of the players didnt understand each other, but they understand the game and it's course; to play(win :) )... and have fun, and respect each other, so please stop making fun of poor players, not everyone is a talent, but is a player
USA have some good keppers shame about there players.I hate that the USA play some of the worst teams in the world witch makes them like top 10 in the world ranking but when it comes to the world cup and things like that there like a fish out of water.
Football is actually called Soccer too in many places. It's a perfectly valid name so pretentious people need to keep quiet on the football/soccer debate. In Australia, Ireland and many other places it's called Soccer as well, and sometimes Football too so it's hardly solely an American thing. When the sport was founded it may have been called Soccer so get something better to worry about. The MLS will keep getting better, it's a young league.
Last but not least, USA needs to feel soccer like other nations do(love it like they love American football and stop trying to make money of it like the endorsement David Becham has) or else poeple will come and go like Freddy Adu. If this changes takes place, the its National team will be good as well.
To me Major League Soccer needs to invest alot more. They need more international good players like Essien(Chelsea), Ronaldo(manchester) and other good football players. Secondly the MLS need to draft good college players or highschool players not some trashy players without any skills. !!!!!
You're talking about Canada you idiot, America is basketball, not hockey. And by the way, you're the ignorant one, in America we call this sport soccer not football, but we don't go around acting like idiots saying "What is football? In my country we call it soccer."
Seriously people they don't mean the best goal keeper in the world, just for the MLS. Last time I checked Buffon, Casillas or any other great Euro goalkeeper don't play in the MLS.
Also just because the MLS is not as developed as in Europe does not mean it should be bashed. At least the US is trying to bring football and in the long run it is always best that this sport is growing.

buddy i agree 100%,we should improve soccer here but the big guys dont care for it , , iam pissed about the beckham situation , the guy sucks .he is always ingured but i guess he is afraid to get in the field ,i mean if u wanna improve it bring midfielders and play makers like zidane, gerrard, ronaldino, kaka .i know these guys wont come here but there is alot of promising young talent out there .if they wanna bring a 33yr old player ,bring one who is good like zidane..
Don't know why you rate Zidane higher than Beckham as right now Beckham is the better player probably. Zidane has been out of football for well over a year and a half and is over 35. The Galaxy knew Becks was injured before he came so that was their fault. Overall he's good for the MLS in terms of exposure. The league will continue to improve but won't be signing Gerrard's, Kaka's, Ronaldinho's of the world anytime soon.
Only thing u should u is to import quallity trainers and improve youth camps, and bring some talented kids from Brasil or Africa.
U need someone to learn your players how to play footbal proper. I am pleased that you are trying to improve football, becouse it is only world's game that everybody enjoys

buddy i agree 100%,we should improve soccer here but the big guys dont care for it , , iam pissed about the beckham situation , the guy sucks .he is always ingured but i guess he is afraid to get in the field ,i mean if u wanna improve it bring midfielders and play makers like zidane, gerrard, ronaldino, kaka .i know these guys wont come here but there is alot of promising young talent out there .if they wanna bring a 33yr old player ,bring one who is good like zidane..
