  • I remember this!!! I thought she was just too adorable!! I was at least 5 years old...I'll be 43 this year; she was such a doll!

  • Am I just imagining it, or was there also a "W-W-W-W-W-W-Wilhelmina"?

  • @RangerGordon Yes, there was, and that clip too is on YouTube. It has a theme similar to this clip.

  • xDD M-m-m-m-mmmmm derrr ;o

  • The Accused sampled this for their song "M is For Martha." Of course "M" is for "mascot."

    "Martha Splatterhead!"

  • Thanks! I loved Marvelous Martha! That was one of my favorites from Sesame Street!

  • My name is Martha, and I am named after this cartoon.

  • I'm named after this cartoon too!

  • I haven't seen this in nearly 35+ years! The thing that amazes me is that I can recall how the voices sounded after all this time.

  • Ah, the classic stuff is the best :)

  • OMG!! So THATS where that comes from! I like to say M M M M M ...ME! for a laugh. Now I remember I first heard it on Sesame Street. THANK YOU for the post.

  • My name is Martha and I LOVED LOVED LOVED this Sesame Street segment when I was a kid. I am so excited to have found it again. Thanks for posting it!!!

  • Marvelous Martha was one of my favorite Sesame Street bits when I was a child, but Martha didn't look so marvelous when she made that mad face though lol.

  • Another mmmarvelous mmmemory! Thanks, love2register! The part I remember most is when the bouncing ball is used to 'draw' the capital and lowercase M's. ('A straight line up, another one down...')

  • 00:53 ROFL XD

  • MM MMM MMMM MMM ME!!!!

Now. I forget. Who VOICED THIS?? I said George Carlin.

  • marvelous Martha

  • martha who?

  • it is not

  • It's sad that some people consider this delightful cartoon "weird." Probably a generational difference. Those of us who grew up in the 70s grew up in a more innocent time. What's "weird" (and scary) to be is Grand Theft Auto.

  • Funny you should mention that, just yesterday I walked up to a Radio Shack (shopping for someone else I should mention), and they had a single sign on the door with three words: Grand Theft Auto.

You might say I had a "generational moment" :-/

  • It's scary. :-/

  • agreed I miss the 70s!

  • nevermind GFA.

    ZZZZZZZZZ.

    This is much better.

  • weird

  • funny :D

  • this is so funny

  • I mean George Carlin.

  • Sounds a BIT LIKE gc.

  • hey Leave that cartoon alone

  • Always loved this one. Martha's walk is so cute, and the sound design is dope. Peace.

  • Who did the voiceover for this one? Sounds like it might be Morgan Freeman.

  • m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m....MORON!(just kiddin')

  • This cartoon is sheer innocent genius.

  • With little green shoes!

  • Wow...it even looks like the Martha I know!!!

  • M is for Martha!!!

I would of never guessed!! LOL

  • I still love Martha!!!

  • RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITE

  • MMMMMMMMMMNMMMMMM MARTHA!

  • Martha is too cute! M m m m m!

  • Oh man this one was always one of my favorites especially the mud thing x3

  • martha's mostly mental.

  • hahaha!

  • Martha ain't that marvelous...

  • I always saw those tiny 'm's in the mud and thought that was weird...why didn't they just draw mud??? But it's still a classic I'll always remember-thanks!

  • I always liked this because my name begins with "M". Also, Martha was spunky and liked to play in the mud.

  • Is this the sister skit to "W for Wilhelmena"? I actually don't remember this one all that well?

  • LOL! I used to say "em-em-em-em-em" around the house a lot because of Martha.

  • While it's sort of goofy it's still nice to see since it goes back to the shows early years and it's interesting to see how things looked at that time.

  • When capital letters eat their young

  • This was a family favorite. The sound effects and the happy dance make it official: A CLASSIC.

  • i remember this one

  • M M M M M. Me!

  • Say what you want, but this kid has AD-D

  • lol

  • @xpander2k We didn't have ADD in the 70's :)

  • classic stuff! Martha's sooo cute!

  • This one is gold, and I'm not saying that because of the "medal" example either. Five stars (they don't make letter cartoons like they used to!).

  • I like the sound they use for "medal" : )

  • And for mad to. lol

  • I don't remember this. I guess I'm too young. I remember "W" for "Wilamina."

  • Marvelous! Simply mah-velous, baby! :-) I remember this one well.
