it will detect 4gb if the netbook can take 4gb, like bios can take 4gb. but if bios cant detect 4gbs then it wont show up. if u put in a 4gb ddr2 stick, and it wont show up, it is either dead, or it is way too big for the bios to take, try a 2gb stick and try if it work.
Hay there I am having the same black screen during boot up. How did you get yours to boot normally. Also I am having a problem with my audio drivers. I've installed the most current realtek 2.17 drivers. With these drivers i'm getting a crackle in the speakers. What drivers are you using??
Thanks for the video, enjoyed the run down on Win 7. I actually watched you 1002ha unboxing right before I ordered mine. I just downloaded the beta and Iam seriously considering installing Win7. Did you set up dual boot? What did you do to prep the eee for install? O would hate to install it and have a bad partition or something. Also will the f9 recovery still work? Cheers.
Good videos. I'm thinking of getting that netbook. May I ask how you installed Windows 7 onto the SSD drive? Did you put it on a pen drive first and install from there? Thanks.
I just used an external CD ROM and installed it that way....
The pen drive installation is a little more intuative.
Battery's not bad at all...like 5 hours is the average I get... What's nice is that if I place it on standby I can get 9+ hours and it boots up in less than 5 seconds...
yeah i tried windows 7 on my laptop made a partition for it for about 3 days i hope that microsoft doesn't do what they did last time and screw everything up cause 7 is amazing at the moment.
by the way i have the 1002ha, same as yours?

do you think 1 gb ram will handle windows 7 or should i go for 2?
matomezato 1 year ago
I've been wanting to install the windows 7 RC on my 1002ha, I was a little worried about the drivers. Are you just using the XP drivers?
It looks pretty fast. Would you say its faster than XP?

what OS comes installed on this? XP?
I want vista!
Syrius187 2 years ago
Yes XP comes pre-installed. Vista runs ok to, but XP is faster ofcourse. However, I use Win7 on my EeePC 1000H, which runs faster than Vista.
