there's no rule against helmet-to-helmet unless it's either (A) a hit on a quarterback, or (B)spearing (using the crown, or very top of you helmet). just because helmets hit doesnt mean it's dirty. defensive player's are actually taught to pop the riddell logo (top of the facemask, basically the forehead) right under the opponent's chin (bottom of the facemask) when making a tackle while wrapping up. this results in a completely legal helmet-to-helmet
