  • this is the first record that i bought :-)

  • hi to all you punks that remember great music =the buzzcocks

  • 0:03-0:06 is where the clash got the intro to "Whats My Name" my fav song by the clash and buzzcocks

  • fuckin great......yeah.......promises, yeah

  • Pop group?

  • Not pop:)

    Its punk .

Im not having a go and i shouldnt care a damn but it just irks me to see this called pop or worse still powerpop.

Manchester was a hell of a place back then, harsh sometimes but mostly lots of fun...almost as good as the late 80s almost:)

  • This is the best pop group of the 70s. Aside from David Bowie, that is.

  • dont get me wrong , i like the buzzocks , saw them live in liverpool in 78 or was it 79, theres a fair few bands id rate higher , the jam, the stranglers, the clash, elvis costello and the attractions ,sham 69 to name a few ,,earlier 70s slade and dr feelgood , as i said buzzcocks were good but would struggle to get in the top ten

  • I won't deny that my earlier comment was a bit of an exaggeration, I agree that the Clash and the Jam were higher up on my list, along with Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Talking Heads and Gang of Four. Though they'd definitely make at least my top 15.

  • Rat from the Damned was also great.

& also Budgie (Siouxsie & the banshees)...

But anyway I agree that Maher+Garvey were fantastic.

  • great song and great band nice one

  • cool song. love the band

  • Look at that drumming i knwo its only a music video so they prob didnt play. But that drumming so smooth i wish be drum smooth like that some time

  • i didn't appreciate the buzzcocks at the time.caught up to much in the seriousness of the clash n at. but they made some really good music. sound better now for some reason.suppose i'm not as critical

  • Yeah its true... and they used to say punks couldn't play and then no one says that about modern indie: ridiculous!

  • Rumahuqu says YEAH !

  • Legends!!

  • About 15 years ago they played a show at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland and Diggle was hilarious. Tried to destroy his guitar and amp and they played such an exhaustive set NOTHING BROKE!!!

  • I still think this was their best song. Great facial expressions by both Shelley and Diggle!

  • i can not agree more!!!

  • Me too! Loved this band and what they produced. Certainly influenced a lot of the later bands.

  • F'n classic pop. Thanks for posting this. Memories.......

  • How come I've never seen this? Mind you at the time I was never in the house watching TV!

  • Looks like it was a promo video -- so maybe it was never aired. And if it was it would have only been on British television, so if you were in the states you wouldn't have had the chance to see it.

  • Best of the Buzz! Thanks so much for this

  • cool!!!

  • Proberly the best New Wave song released.

  • a voz às vezes me lembra a de joe strummer :~~

  • Buzzcocks ruless!

  • this song is brillaint, ive loved it since i was 14 years old. ah can't beat a bit of good old english punk rock from the 70's :)

  • i love this song because i always found it a bit similar to one of pink panther's tunes - buzzcoks rocks!

  • Classic! good post nice one.

  • I'm in a band and our band is called after this song !!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's a perfect music video. They just play the song.

  • oh god, steve cracks me up! look at his faces hahahaha :)

    (LL)

  • low budget video making has come a long way here is a memory of what it looked like

  • esencia del punk

  • fantastic -& quite funny, i love the wideangle-
