the last boss reminds me more of the last boss in half life opposing force. The final boss in opposing force was a large monster half way inside a portal with tentacles. to kill it you had to shoot weak points on its sides, and then a weak point in the center of it, then repeat. sound familiar?

You could also say that a take on this boss was also in God of War 2, Metroid, Jaws Unleashed, Kirby's Dream Land, Conan, Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, Skies of Arcadia, Soulcalibur III, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, BioShock, Endless Ocean, Super Mario RPG Legend of 7Stars, Dragon Quest VIII, & Tomb Raider Underworld. The Destroyer was more like a giant alien squid.
He is correct about the grinding in this game, but the gameplay is fun. The player is in constant pursuit for the perfect gun & the perfect character build. This is basically like dangling a carrot in front of a horse. Games like this take 100s of hours to enjoy and critics have deadlines. I'm sure that he skipped the side missions, which would leave the game flat. Borderlands has the cell shaded visuals, but the concept art is what is so imaginative & unique.
Sledge is easy if you are a berserker and if you have endless rage and the shock artifact you can punch him out without having to fire a bullet trust me i did it my first time trying
@imbocca Yes, but in those games you're not playing the optional missions and objectives to get experience or level up, you're doing it because it adds to the story. In Borderlands the side missions are there just to get in some more game time and to earn experience and prepare for the next main mission.

One of the reasons DSP had a hard time and grinding was involved, is because he skipped 60% of the quests. The quests are what make the game fun, and doing them all keeps you at the proper level to advance the story. If he had done them in order and not rushed through, the playthrough would've been MUCH better. There were some story elements he skipped over, like the first alien encounter.

I sold sledge's shotgun. It's too ineffective from a distance with a 0% accuracy ratting. With the Solder class you wanna primarily use combat rifles (Assault Rifles and Machine Guns) to deal out heavy damage from any range, especially long. Shot Guns are more of a secondary class, pick and use shot guns with elemental attributes because that's something you wont get with rifles. I range with a 3 round burst rifle and use shot gun w/corrosion to break armor.
It's pretty much like any other RPG - it seems vanilla and boring until your character can actually use their unique abilities and get decent gear that they can work with.
if you play with two players,it is way more fun so you dont get bored and you dont need to "grind" because even killing enemies together is really fun
I didnt find it boring the game picks up in about 30 mins to an hour with sort of tougher enemies to fight with, but playing with others is the best way.
brilliant its always played frequently during the break with my sisters they are incredibly good at it. I was lucky enough to get the game perfectly free for my sony ps3 from here - 115 games |.| com there are literally hundreds and the best part is they are all totally free btw 1:13 to 3:43 was first class

I had some Rocket launcher that did shock damage X4 and reloaded in like 3 seconds and did 800 damage but I accidently dropped it :( It was my second best gun.
I had this machine gun from S&S which had 81 bullets per clip that hit about 100 each hit and with criticles just owned my opponets but I have to kill two turrets that can kill me in like 10 seconds and I can't beat them.

I didnt grind at all, ever. and about the fight with Sledge, you are so wrong again. you played as a soldier, and there may be another stategy from the other characters in the game. I played as Brick. And what I did on Sledge, was to BASH HIS FACE IN WITH MY FISTS. from the start till he was dead. thats the strategy you have with Brick. bash everyone and everything with your fists. nuff said.

@TheStockzzz i know ha ha i have it and i boosted my level up alot by joining a friends game and he gave me a lot of xp by killing really high level creatures in the last area. i haven't beat this game still though cuz im working on my mass effect 2 insanity playthrough, and my 360 broke. i've uploaded the first 21 parts to it then my xbox broke. it sucks

I must disagree with you there DarkSydePhil.
I didnt grind at all, ever. and about the fight with Sledge, you are so wrong again. you played as a soldier, and there may be another stategy from the other characters in the game. I played as Brick. And what I did on Sledge, was to BASH HIS FACE IN WITH MY FISTS. from the start till he was dead. thats the strategy you have with Brick. bash everyone and everything with your fists. nuff said.

what i hated is that you had to grind to advance in some of the really lower lv missions. like when fighting bone head. i could not fucking do it at my lv. i had to grind like all hell to be able to get him

sledge was easy as shit for me i was playing splitscreen with my freidns he used his bloodwign i used my turret and we just owned him in like 20-50 seconds
most of the boses ive fought so far were to easy krom we just had to get to him then melee him and shoot him a bi tand he died to
