Mike Legg is the STUD :) Just recently Finnish ice hockey player Mikael Granlund did this kind of airhook goal 2011 in the World Cup. In my opinion Granlund did it better because he did not stop, but scored from the move :)
I'm a Ice hockey goalie and I see people pulling this shit all the time during scrimage games trying to be a hot shot. Then again I see them get creamed behind the net when they try to set up for this move...Haw-ha!
Agreed. I don't play goalie, but when someone hotdogs like that in a scrimmage every time, it gets annoying, and makes you want to put someone on their rear.
Every once in a while for the laughs is fine, its only when you do it every time.
Only thing good is that Michigan beat Minnesota (I'm a badger)= hate Minnesota more than Michigan.AND he created one of the coolest hockey trick shots that 9yr olds are doing COOL
it's only ruled a high stick if the part of the stick that touches the puck is above the level of the crossbar. obviously if you have the puck on your stick, it can't go in if it's above the crossbar, so i think it would be a legal goal. correct me if i'm wrong though.
i remember watching this....best goal ever...this guy did it before anyone...and noone will ever do it again....im a gopher fan but i can appretiate good hockey
in response to none will ever do it again: crosby did it, it's been done in a few european leagues, and one of my friends has done it twice in junior.
hey sabre jack-off, this is one of my good friends from high school... i would appreciate it if you would quit hating. Accomplish something in your miserable life, the life where you probably live vicariously through sports you are obviously not good at and then say something. This is a historic goal, scored by a CANADIAN on an American hockey team. Until you have your name in lights, shut up and quit trying to belittle a triumphant goal that is still being talked about 13 years later....
wtf? is right, if you have to ask such a question because you can't figure out that if you put all your questions together to form 1 sentence.... you would have your answer and I wouldn't have to write such a defensive reply to your stupidity. The video replay was show MULTIPLE times and explained MULTIPLE times and yet you still claim to have no clue.... ANYONE who has watched even 1 hockey game would know that this is not your typical goal.
For a moment there I gave you the benefit of the doubt that maybe you were not as dumb as your question but I stand very corrected now. You are calling me a dumbass? Your question is equally as stupid as someone asking if Hussein Bolt was famous for being fast or for running?
P.S. EvanK1995? .... what a fucking stupid name and anything that revolves around this person... someone does something most others find impressive and all you have to say is you think his name is stupid?....
They should have checked his hockey stick, it looked like it had some "stickem" on it. That puck looked like it just stucked to the tape on his stick blade.
I remember at the time sportscasters were saying that he'd never be able to pull that off at the NHL level. Who cares, he'll be on highlights reels forever. I bet if someone tried that against the Maple Leafs it'd work though.
GREAT HOCKEY VIDEO!! To see 2 other great hockey videos, just click on my name. The new one is for my upcoming hockey book which will be released in October and has the Foreword written by Keith Primeau!
i did that in a game and th en i was skaing all the way from the bluline to the net and i was just laughing my ass off cuz the other players were watching and telling the reff "he cant do that it is illegial to do that in a game" they thought that the puck couldnt come off the ice and still be in play. but then i hit the goalie in the side and i missed but it was a funny time. lol
yeah dude, props to your kid for doing it. fuck you for not even being impressed by your kid, nor this dude i bet you couldnt even get your dick hard for your wife
now my whole team does this because they got sex wax which unlike other waxes is stick rather slippery and so they just like go down on the puck and get it up
as long as you keep it under the crossbar it counts. I dont think the goalie was expecting. Mike legg was very carefull to keep the puck under the crossbar. But in turth someone should have hit him before he got to take the shot
But it was still cool when i was in HS a few kids tried to do it during a game they all got crushed
