@B0x0fjuice you can save only on the overworld. You can also "quicksave", but this save will be deleted once you load it with the "continue" option in the title screen. This is useful if you're in a dungeon and have to turn your DS off.

Frankly, I've never played the original to any serious extent. All I can really say is FFIII DS is pretty good gameplay-wise, but it fails to draw in story-wise. FFIV DS is just the opposite, and I think it's quite a bit better.

@ursawarrior619 It's not too difficult. This is NOT the Final Fantasy III you played years ago. The "old" Final Fantasy III was Final Fantasy VI. The reason is because many FF games were made in Japan that were never brought to North America. NA originally got FF I. II and III never came to America. When FF IV came out, it was the 3nd FF game to be release in NA, so it was called FF II. FF V also never made it here, so FF VI was the 3rd game to be released in NA, and was thus called FF III.

They called it FF3 in america because up to that point they had only released FF1-2 in america and didnt want to confuse comsumers by releasing it as FF6. So to answer your question, No the actual Final fantasy 3 was never released on the SNES.

Yup, good choice!, this is a good game if you´re starting out, when you have more experience with final fantasy you should get final fantasy 4.

The game has long been releases now :D Yup, you get to name your 4 characters, and you always fight with 4 once you teamed up (happens really early in the game too). It's fun, and towards the end quite difficult. I did prefer FFIV on DS though. I also think 5 party members would have worked more given the many classes, half of which are sadly dispensable.

Get this and FFIV. FFIII doesn't have much in the way of story at all, but it has the amazing Job system. FFIV doesn't, but it has a classic story and the Active Time battle system, which FFIII doesn't have.

i actually dont know which to recommend, cuz they're both different. Like in FF 3 you can pick what class you want your characters to have, while FF 4 is already set. also FF 3 is turn based, while FF4 is like time based. i have both, and i would recommend 4 just cuz i played that more recently.
