  • I think you need to practice basic intervals before you attempt this piece again. What you're playing sounds interesting, but bears little resemblance to the tune of the piece...

  • Considering the size of the B3, and the fact that you're playing to a very loose, nonrhythmic track, this is a good attempt.

I'm in no place to criticize, because I'm still trying to teach myself theremin. It's really hard to perform theremin when under pressure, I played in front of my class once and bombed because I was shaking so much. Try to be a little more "flowing" and keep your pitch hand steady. Theremin is crazy hard to begin with, though. Good job! :)

  • Hello,

What piece of music from the 'Wiz-o-Oz' is that? Could it be the overture from the original Mo-Pic?

    Please advise.

  • Its by the Cincinnati Pops orchestra its not the original.

  • Really good attempt man.

Next step is probably to practice with your left hand.. gotta mask those slides with silence! ;)

    -peace out.

  • Thanks.

  • The B3 is SO hard because it's so small. You are doing great with it. I got some sound (pun intended) ideas from watching Thomas Grillo playing the B3 on here. He is also very inspiring! Whenever I need reminding that it's possible to play it, I just watch him!

  • Wow, very nice. You should get both of Clara Rockmore's CDs and the "Theremin; An Electronic Odyssey" DVD. Keep practicing and keep playing! - William

  • Thank you, I've rented Theremin: An Electrnic Odessey and I bought some of Clara's songs of iTunes.

  • It's just okay.

  • Thank you.

  • how cool is that?!?!?! I WANT ONE!

  • Great work, thanks for posting.

  • Haha thats so cool!

  • Thanks, Its really hard but really fun to play.

  • Hi. I'm not surprised you're finding it hard - the pitch field on your instrument is tiny! The notes are so close together - specially the high notes.

Hope you don't mind suggestions. Couple of things you might try...

Move your body closer to the pitch antenna when you're playing the high notes - that will stretch the field out and move the notes further apart.

Try moving just one finger instead of your whole hand - again you'll get a bigger distance between notes.

  • Thank you for your suggestions, I know the B3 is not the best theremin in the wrd but its all I could afford. I want to buy a Moog someday! I will try your suggestion thankyou.

  • There are theremins even better than Moogs.
